raocow besteht aus mehren Individuen? Ist er eine hochintelligente Portugiesische Galeere oder so etwas? Das würde auf jeden Fall ziemlich viel erklären...
Oh, ha, it's been a long time. xD That wasn't the only mistake I made at first. Fixed!
(Side note: Japanese verb forms are so much easier than German. Then again, it probably also helps that I took 4 years of Japanese and only 1 year of German... and that I watch Japanese cartoons all the time.)
My ears are now burning. Thanks Drama Mistery 2. I see you like music that uh... I guess are from the 90s or 80s that might be considered as uh... grunge? Or... something?
EDIT: ...Nope, hi there Smells Like Teen Spirit. I think. It definitely sounds Nirvana-ish...? No idea what the first song is.
Because Touhou OCs can in fact exist, sounds fake I know.
I can't change my username but I go by Vali/Claire now (aka call me Vali or Claire at your leisure ^^).
I never update this currently playing section anymore, it's probably an RPG or something.
I have to compliment the author because, objectively speaking, the game is pretty bad, but yet he has managed to make it tremendously entertaining thanks to the narm of the plot, its characters and the music. It's so bad it's good, and achieving something like that is probably as hard as making just a good game.
I'm curious, is the Fireball powerup now actually permanent? raocow, can you go back into a previous level and confirm that. See an old friend, like Jowey.

I'm thinking that it might be permanent in the levels ahead, due to useage of uberASM.

Two things dawned on me during this episode. One: the fact that it's a completely linear (up to now at least, dunno about later) game with no secret exits weirds me out. Not even like any dragon coin collecting like with Call of Cthulhu, just... moving straight forward. I mean it's obvious but it's only today that the linearity felt painfully obvious to me. Maybe I'm blind.
The other thing is I keep thinking "raocow use your double jump that'll make things easier" before realizing this isn't DT3. Might be because of there being a double jump in Drama Mistery 1 but I think I'm just getting game mechanics all messed up in my head or I'm confusing the wall jump for a double jump.

Oh hey, he got the permament fire ability! Unfortunately, this is gonna make the next few bosses a pain, because Grate decided that almost all boss fights after this point required you to defeat them purely with fireballs rather than jumping or throwing enemies. I think there's a crow boss up ahead which might be a tad annoying cause of that...
On this game being the megaman x of the series: wasn't the original Drama Mistery super into Sonic or something like that? It's been a while, but I remember a lot of hedgehog-related things being tagged onto it, as well as a correspondingly high love for the Dankey Kang.
Courtesy of the comments, today's System of a Down port is "I-E-A-I-A-I-O" in South Fortress. I for one am loving the game's consistency in this regard.
Grate sure had a thing for bosses who compulsively go from one end of the screen to the other and then back again in an infinite, nightmarish loop. Obviously, there must be a lore explanation for this. I have but two hypotheses:
1) Just as disputes in ancient egypt were settled via the use of children's card games, the inhabitants of Drama Mistery's setting have also been forced to to settle their grievances through non-lethal means. This makes sense, because obviously if the likes of Russ were to wade into battle, there would be cataclismic destruction and loss of life. Instead, they have adopted a system of extreme marco polo with elements of dodgeball. This would also explain Kooper's infinite lives.
2) The characters of Drama Mistery are, in fact, a single species of highly advanced chameleon sharks who must remain in constant motion, or else their hidden land-gills will cease to sieve oxygen from the air that they're moving through. Kooper? Land shark. Russ? Air shark. Pirate man? Shark shark. It all makes sense.
I like how you had to do pretty much the exact same boss fight three times. That was a nice touch.
move over worldpeace, we got a new supreme boss designer for smw
It's really interesting how the hack combines some of the worst and some of the best things of SMW hacking all at once.
Like, the level design is kind of boring and flat and the music is questionable at best, but then you have these super amazing backgrounds, which are honestly a lot better than what you usually see in these type of games.
The creator obviously put a lot of effort into compiling these graphics (and the music as well I guess), so it's kind of weird that a lot of the other aspects (like the level design itself) almost seem like an afterthought.
