SMW Romhack beginner

Post by Klayr »

So, I've been looking to try completing a romhack of SMW and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a first one to play through. I've attempted a few before, but usually get discouraged when I hit a level that I spend 40+ lives trying to beat. I'm fine with some difficulty, but I prefer to not use save states and only resort to them when frustrated (and usually quit playing the romhack after having used save states to complete a level).

You can go on the SMW Central hack database and search for hacks labeled 'easy' in the search field. They should be around the difficulty of the original SMW. You can adjust the 'difficulty' setting in the search field to something more challenging, if you wish.

I tried JUMP. Made it to world 3 before giving up on it. I decided that something rated at normal difficulty might be a good start, so I settled for TSRPR.
