Exactly, that's why I wanted to spread it out. It's the least we could do. Also it varies up the content, rather than doing all of Bowser's at once and then immediately after finishing up special world, there would at least be stuff in between.Zach808 wrote: Let's face it, if he insists on cleaning up everything, that level will kill him regardless of when he does Bowser's Castle.

Baby come back, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you
I'm pretty sure you visited this before, but never listed that one for some reason. Oh well, now it's the time.
Gear Lava Zone Land Overworld Theme - Fortress 2 Blue - Tank Slayer
Voting for room 1 and room A of Bowser's Castle, and after that, The Lava Gap that is too Large to Cross.
As for Special-6, this actually IS one of levels I'm worried about whether you would be able to pass it (but now that you beat Coin Town USA, I'm fairly sure you can deal with Special-5, so Special-6 is the only one left). Special-6 is fairly easy if you don't try to do all rooms, but some are craziest thing ever.
Bowser's Castle is not really an issue. There is one crazy room, but I'm fairly sure you will be able to deal with it.
I'm not kidding. I'm fairly sure you can deal with everything in JUMP by this point, other than Special-6. You have been warned. Special-6 did in fact cause raocow give up with JUMP.
(oh, and a generic warning, if you see a level called Burnt Mountain Tango, consider this level to have longcow warning, i.e. do a video by itself, I suppose?)

Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep62b - Sinful Shells
I figured I should mention this, I believe there's only one more notable version difference in the remaining levels, and that's Miscellaneous Monument. On v1.01, there's fewer checkpoints. So you might want to play v1.04 of that level as well, but it's up to you. It's mostly a puzzle level, but there's a lot of difficulty execution wise as well. I played v1.01, but raocow played the version with the extra checkpoints I believe.
Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep62b - Sinful Shells
I feel like QubicTom is confused about the special world levels. (No spoilers ahead hehe)
Miscellaneous Monument is Special-4.
??? is Special-5 and is very hard.
??? is Special-6 and has multiple rooms. Some of the rooms are much harder than others.
To be perfectly honest I game over'd on Coin Town USA and then quit. I wasn't exactly playing at my best; I was tired and very bored, and the game so far didn't throw any interesting gimmicks at me, so I was pretty much falling asleep. But still.

You're absolutely right, I had them mixed up! Thanks for clearing that up for me.ft029 wrote:I feel like QubicTom is confused about the special world levels. (No spoilers ahead hehe)
Okay, that's good to know! I think historically I'd play both versions. Will decide on the day which version to play first.nathanisbored wrote:I figured I should mention this, I believe there's only one more notable version difference in the remaining levels, and that's Miscellaneous Monument. Just so everyone knows, I was not able to make time today to record JUMP, due to work lasting from 9am until midnight. Saturday is pretty much the same hours, but if I get a break I'll try to make a quick video, even if it's just a first attempt at a level or a single room in Bowser's Castle. I cannot guarantee a video for Saturday night. This will also cause a delay for A2MT, since I need to wait for the votes to come in. Sorry about this, Fridays and Saturdays have always caused these problems!
Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep63 - Chagrin Castle
After some delay, here's JUMP! The first room in Bowser's Castle won the vote, so here you go! In future, I'll do the rooms in pairs though.

Well, considering you just did a Jolpe room, I vote for Misc. Monument. I'd suggest using 1.04 for it, though. Puzzle levels are just no fun to have a lack of checkpoints in.
Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep63A - Castle Correction
Here's a video to make up for yesterday's poor planning! I do Room 1 and Room A, as I should have the first time round!
Ep63A - Castle Correction
No need to vote - I've used the votes from the previous video to record the next level, which will be released tomorrow night! :D
(I can tell you now - tomorrow night's video is a bit of a trainwreck

Today's JUMP level is brought to us by Isocitration! Really unique atmosphere to this one!

Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep64a - Miscellaneous Mess-ups
I really love the atmosphere of this level. the graphics and music fit perfectly with the puzzles. but i agree with others that you should do v1.04 first if you plan to do both versions of the level. It's primarily a puzzle level so having a checkpoint after solving a puzzle doesnt change much, and getting exhausted by having to do everything all over might ruin the enjoyment of the puzzles. And it's a pretty long level. Anyway, good luck

Special-4 - Asterix & Obelix - The Mountains
I compared Special-5 to Coin Town USA, not Special-4.
Although it was sorta a joke that if you dealt with that, you should be fine with Special-5.

Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep64a - Miscellaneous Mess-ups
I know people mean well but I find it a bit annoying that people keep constantly recommending QubicTom to switch versions whenever he faces adversity (same with raocow and savestates). QubicTom is not just doing this for the viewers but also for himself, so if he wants to play 1.01, just leave him be. I'm sure that he himself understands the value of self-suffering, as he's demonstrated plenty of times in this playthrough already (and I'm sure in his private life as well, what with his recent thesis and all).

Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep64a - Miscellaneous Mess-ups
But remember how Chains of Atrophy went? I had to make a post defending Iso because he had told me how he felt about the situation but wasn't speaking up himself. I feel as though the level authors ultimately want their revised version to be the true version that people judge their levels based on, otherwise they wouldnt have changed their levels to begin with. So if an older version makes the level seem worse than it deserves, I feel obligated to suggest playing the 'better' version to make the impression of the level more positive.cozyduck wrote:I know people mean well but I find it a bit annoying that people keep constantly recommending QubicTom to switch versions whenever he faces adversity (same with raocow and savestates). But I am curious if Tom can do it all on v1.01 (I did!). I just don't want it to get in the way of the puzzle solving too much. Also I think Iso did generally make changes to his levels based more on pressure from people than anything else, and it's possible he preferred the level in its original form (I don't want to speak for him anymore). I personally think the gimmick of revisiting the hub room with different alterations each time is kinda spoiled or made redundant by the checkpoint, so in some sense I like v1.01 better. Maybe I'm just paranoid that things will 'go wrong' if he gets stubborn about updating
Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep64a - Miscellaneous Mess-ups
I do get your point and I certainly can understand an author's desire to have people experience the "best version" of their work. It's just that such recommendations have gotten so common (especially for raocow) that sometimes I wish people would just let the let's players make the decision themselves. I certainly have no issues with people informing QubicTom about 1.04 having had changes, but ultimately I don't want him to feel obliged to comply with peoples preferences and would rather have him just play the game the way he wants to, even if he risks having his experience be more unpleasant for both him and his viewers.nathanisbored wrote: But remember how Chains of Atrophy went? I forgot to update to v1.04 before that particular recording session, so I may as well stick to that version! Either way, I'll showcase both
It takes no time at all to go through the first rooms, and enemies aren't a problem. There hasn't been any suffering yet! And the music is really good! Maybe I'm speaking too soon though

Basically, I switch to v1.04 after about 40 minutes. However, it makes no difference, since I make no progress anyway :D

Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep64e - Mighty Monument
So one thing to point out about Bowser's Castle, is that there's more than one set of choices. So maybe next time you get to the midpoint, you should just grab it so you have access to the next set of choices too (so people could vote for 4/5/6 and L/R as well) If you need to go back to the first set of choices, you could just flush the midpoint anyway.

Voting for Jolpen's level not in special world.

Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep65a - Lava Gap second half is frustrating!
The first half in fine, but I've wasted two recording sessions on the second half. Slow autoscrollers with rng obstacles aren't fun!
