challenge 15 is all about chain throwing, which is a thing you only ever do in that challenge and nowhere else, so it can be hard at first but you get better at it the more you do the challenge

as for golds to get i have to imagine there are at least three you could get fairly easily, though i don't remember all the challenges and i don't remember which ones you have left to do

i would say both 14 and 17 are pretty easy golds, though

I found Intenso mode useful for the one-hit challenge, especially with the shield-breaking upgrade. It still took me a few tries, though.

As for getting golds, one thing you can try is starting a combo challenge in chicken form to rack up lots of easy hits. I bet you can get at least one done that way, though the first one starts with a lot of skeletons and it's hard to keep track of them all as a chicken. But one starts with two green skeletons, one has two as the second wave after some plants, and one starts with two armadillos that are pretty easy to manage with a little practice. All good opportunities to raise your hit count.

Challenge 15 would have been slightly easier if raocow had a controller with an analogue stick available. You get finer control of direction, rather than being limited to 8 directions.

Also, the "don't take any damage" room would have been much easier if raocow had used any other suit other than the chicken suit that hobbles his stamina. Has he unlocked the skeleton one yet? Infinite stamina would be hugely valuable there and in practically any other room where he needs to do lots of special moves.

(Currently, I'm trying to tackle the final boss, as I'm not that worried about having the side content spoiled).

Really? The chicken form? Is that reliable? I've been told to use the Portero suit because it has weak regular attacks.

He went and had a quick look at other costumes several videos ago but didn't bother getting one of them nor did he seem to really actually consider any of them either. I wouldn't really be surprised if he kept the chicken suit until the end of the game considering this is raocow we're talking about.

Don't feel bad for that chicken; it was in hell afterall, so it must have been a real bad egg.

And yeah the challenges are basically "here's all the stuff that that was a bit too much to put anywhere else" area. A few of these likely expect you to actually use intenso to clear them faster.

technically these were all in the game in Gold, which did not have intenso, so they're all intended to be cleared without intenso, but it certainly makes several of them easier

Also useful, mainly for the one where you need 200 hits; I got somewhere around 170 by just using regular attacks on the skeletons. But when you're only dealing with two enemies with simple attack patterns, it's easy to dodge as a chicken and you'll do even less damage than with Portero, you just need to make sure you don't go too long without attacking.

Geez...raocow is making the game harder for himself by not using Intenso and not changing the costume in that room with insta-kill attacks. I must give him that he can manage to beat some of those challenges without using the tools that the game is giving to him.

As for the challenges that you may be able to Gold, if you do it in one shot, you may be able to Gold challenge 14, and challenge 17 is super posible to do, more with the clocks that reduce the time. That leaves one more...perhaps you could go for one that asks you to do combos and do the strategy that everyone talks about attacking in chicken mode.

16:20 The death stomach "El Pepto" is a reference to the medicine Pepto-Bismol. If the direct reference is that it is ineffective, or just a plain reference...I don't know.

You know that one house in that little corner scene of the canals you once gushed over? You can actually reach it and go inside it.

Don't forget to explore the agave fields again.

make sure to consult your map often, cowrao! you could have used it while in the dungeon.

Man, it's too bad I don't have the Steam version for costumes like that. Oh well, the Wii U version will suffice.

Still, I'd say Dark_Paratroopa's hints are pretty neat places to start, if only because they're vague enough to leave room for error. Otherwise, I'm hoping to see the rest of those pieces and everything before you tackle Javier!

Dude should at least be given the chance to fumble around for himself and only look at hints if he really wants to. There's really only one I could foresee him having trouble finding, but I managed to find it by myself and, like I said, I'm a dumbass.

I'm not sure if he should know that

you get one for beating the final boss, because it would suck if he thought he just couldn't find it

, but it's in the Youtube comments anyway so he'll know it.

Remember you can see chicken indents you haven't explored on the map too, though you really have to look at the map closely to see them. If you've got a fairly high % in an area and don't see any really obvious places to go, there's probably a chicken tunnel you're missing.

That one doesn't get included in the count anyways.

Things worth clarifying, since raocow was confused on them:
That 63% on the warp screen is the overall collection percentage for all areas. To see which ones you've completed, you want to go to the map screen and then go to the world map from there. raocow got the chest in El Presidente's Mansion, so it should be showing up as complete.

Those counts for mask/Intenso/heart/stamina pieces are not area-by-area; they're tracking your progress towards filling out the next one. When you have all the mask pieces, that says 6/6.

(And yes, the mask pieces count for percentage in the area that leads to them even though Chac Mool isn't technically on the map.)
