Well, Rao is going to go up against the actual final boss tomorrow.
At least he'll be able to heal for once!

considering what some of the other bosses are like, I wonder if we'll get to 50 videos before the game is done

Jesus christ dude what made this here game, you never EVER take the climactic moment out of the players hands, what the hell are you thinking?
"OH NO THE PEOPLE WHO SHOULD FINISH THE FINAL BOSS OFF ARE THESE RANDOMS THAT NO ONE CARES ABOUT"
I'm glad that wasn't the actual final but just wow. It kinda proves that the guy thought he had a good plot.
Like seriously why make it so you see his health bar? At least let them take his health down to god damn zero so they feel they accomplished something.
Also: "STAND BEHIND US WE'RE STRONGER EVEN THOUGH YOU BEAT HIM TO DEATH" "Wait no crap he escaped the beam nvm Vi you were the strongest all along."

This reminds me of the Pokerap.
"Woo! We're at the halfway point, doing great so far.
We? What's all this "we" stuff? I'm doing all the hard work!"

im pretty sure all three of them have shown up before? i think calling them randoms is a bit wrong/off?
you have a point about them doubleing back on if vi's stronger or not, and i feel like the line should have been more about how vi's just generally proven herself as most capable of doing extreme boss fighting than the other three, who all have their specific specializations?
i think the set up for the final boss is pretty neat though so im curious to see if it sticks the landing and gives you the feeling of the four of you combining your powers or whatever

When I was first playing, I never figured out that you could hit the bones back at JJ.
As raocow sort of figured out, they do the most damage when they hit his head, but they also stack. If you're really good, you can hit all three spikes into his head, and it does crazy damage.
JJ actually does more damage the higher the yellow bar is filled. Then it resets back to default when he does his feng shui attack.
raocow, you are about to start the final boss. He is obscenely difficult. I don't want to say much until you've had a chance to fight him, but there is one thing I feel is prudent:
I do not know if this is a bug or intended behavior, but your pulse orbs' damage is based on which weapon you have equipped. In a nutshell, you want to use Pride.
That is all. Good luck!

Why exactly are we calling that one attack "Feng Shui"? I've clearly learned about the concept from the wrong sources!

The yellow eyeballs restored that boss's health slightly when he does the black hole thing. The default weapon/Pride? could cut the launchable spikes in one hit.

Well, to be fair the worst episode of Cowboy Bebop is also about feng shui being magic, so it does seem to be a running theme in Japan. Isn't there a feng shui toohoo as well?

As raocow explained Street Fighter Juri's power-up mode is called Feng Shui engine. Which actually has nothing to do with black holes.
I think that when he said Feng shui engine in the video he was thinking of Seth's Tandem engine. Seth has special moves which make small black holes around his belly and pull the opponent towards him. Joey the Demon also summons black holes around his midsection. Hence the reference.

I think they wanted to do a sort of LoZ seven sages deal where you weaken the boss and they use magic finish them off, but half the time it just comes accross as them just blasting everything with super powered magic while the villian looks unharmed from your attacks, leading to a "why the heck am i even doign this in the first place" scenario.
Reflecting spikes back at the boss is a neat idea but the size and animation is just ludicrous as the boss just has a giant pillar stuck in his forehead, bleeding profusely, and it takes off just a tiny bit of his healthbar. also i don't remember any of these other angels and having them suddenly show up for the final boss fight seems a bit akward and weird.

I don't know about the other one but the green one definitely showed up at the start of the game.

Dark Annihilator was alright. Cool design, but had the problems with literally every boss from then until now though not yet to the point of being unreasonable. Terravine was the same as noticeable-boobs-McGee-the-demon-lady; more about the battle arena than the monster itself. Only also not as interesting to watch.
I liked watching this boss get hit with the spikes and glowy orange whatevers. First time that a fight with a boss looked really satisfying to me.

Ira showed up in the first area. She appeared when you got the Flutter upgrade. She comes from another Angel kingdom.
Fiola showed up when you beat Amethyst and was also referenced in the books at the beginning of the game as the Fairy who helped the Angels take down JJ before.
So no, none of them comes out of nowhere.

That still doesn't make them memorable though. Tenlade said "I don't remember any of these other angels" not, they literally appeared from nowhere. But yes, they both showed up for one scene each, doing nothing.

Well, the good news is that everything is dodgeable. The only thing that's kind of problematic once you've learned the fight are the blue balls. They can occasionally wall you (though on Mortal it shouldn't be an issue).
Rule #1: Stay near JJ.
You can't dodge attacks you can't see, so you always want to be on a platform next to him. The red eye always shows where JJ's going next. Use it to your advantage.
Rule #2: Never activate pentagrams.
Pentagrams do nothing until they turn purple. Then you take a lot of damage. It's totally okay to pass through them temporarily, but don't stand in one for too long. When the ice trap has a pentagram on it, sometimes you can repeatedly while in the pentagram (passing in and out of it), or sometimes you should just give it up. That's okay, because Fiola's healing orbs keep you even (in fact, they very slightly heal you). If you get them all, the poison is more than negated. Thus, you are not on a real time limit.
Rule #3: Ice traps are amazing.
You are incorrect, Amethyst's death beam does a ton of damage. However, JJ's programmed to not take any damage as soon as Vi dies (to prevent weird cases where he dies after Vi does due to death beams), so it looked ineffectual. Plus you get to crescent him a bunch.
Rule #4: Ice traps have the same timing every single time.
JJ will say "You are nothing to me", and then wait just a little longer than four beats in the song before diving. It is a hard timing to master, but it's not luck-based. When the ice trap is on the right side of the screen, he will dive when Amethyst's shield touches the thin background object she's backing into (you'll see it if you look). There is no such tell on the left side.
I guarantee you that the fight is fair (except for blue balls on Demon difficulty), and everything can be dodged 100%. If you decide to put in the effort, it will eventually become clear.

does this game have a god mode of some kind?
because I feel like if there's more than, say, 3 videos of this it won't be entertaining to watch anymore (or particularly fun for raocow to play for that matter), it'll just be video after video of raocow saying "I don't expect to beat this today", getting a bit angry in the middle, then finishing the video sounding quite disheartened feeling like there's not really a reason to even upload it
