raocow you don't need any new weapons to defeat the boss, you just have to actually use the weapon you already have.

Relying only on projectiles means you deal like, less than half as much damage as you otherwise would.

Well I'd say it's more like a bit of both. You need to adapt to the few variables (dogs, spike ball, and to a lesser extent the traps) while still maintaining a good "cycle" of avoiding the fixed attacks. Also let's be honest the real difficulty of the fight is the shield rage phase

Yeah, I couldn't figure that part out either. At best I could get through it only getting hit once or twice, but my winning strategy was hoping that phase wouldn't happen.

You don't necessarily need to attack with your ranged shot all the time. The one that is actually on the platform with you doesn't actually do that much, so just melee her until she goes for her only attack, and then punish her cooldown before she jumps. As for the dogs, it might be easier to just lead them off of the edge rather than fight them given how fast they home in on you and the extremely limited space you have to fight them.

Basically there are three weapons you can get, and are currently eligible for. Lust, Wrath, and I think maybe Gluttony.

To get the weapon for Greed:

You need to have found 25 secrets.

You can get Lust. The memory it is located in is:

The Floating Keep: Aftermath
(Sliding memory)

To get the item from the Lust Shrine:

Just talk to it a bunch.

You can get Wrath. Wrath is located in:

Sinister Grotto
(Spider memory)

To get Wrath from the shrine,

Hit the shrine then fight the enemies that spawn.

As for Gluttony:

The Underworld
(Falling memory)

You're already eligible for it since you already ate the three food items.

a couple screens to the left of where you got the flutter, there's a secret you can get. It's the only secret I know of (thanks to a video by someone else). It looks relatively easy, and you might like the reward.

I'm glad to see that raocow has opened his mind to the wonderful world of melee attacks.

Lust is one of the two god weapons. It's incredibly useful throughout the whole game.

Greed is the other. If you want to expend the effort, it should not take you a very long time. You have missed almost every chest. Some things are very well hidden, but the majority just require the barest modicum of exploration.

Man, I know a lot of people are down on the bosses in this game, but for the most part I really like them. They seem really well designed to test your abilities, and just all around have neat patterns. It's just that you have to learn them, and they're kinda also designed to break your face. But that's just the kind of game this is. Like I dunno if I'd have a different opinion if I played the game, but all in all from what I've seen of raocow's playthrough, they seem nice.

Agreed. It took me twice as long to beat the upper-path boss as it took me to beat the orcs.
