Oh man, World 7. You're approaching the point where I got stuck (still 8-1 Hard, though I only make inconsistent attempts).

Invert Krijyl is one of the toughest Hard Mode bosses, especially for Boki. I was never able to bait him very well with Tripwires; in the end, what I worked out was that if I tossed one somewhere, he'd run into it eventually, so I just tossed them everywhere and focused on dodging. It's the same general idea, yours is just a bit more active.

For Savant, I found that Lightning did a lot of damage to him, and of course it tracks him once you hit with it. It killed him fast enough that I found it worked better than other approaches, at least when backed up by Savant's superior mobility and dodging. Never realized you could avoid the rain of electricity by hugging the ceiling.

Perfected 8-1 with both Boki and Savant! It was definitely hard, but there is a strategy that worked well with both of them on hard mode. When the video gets uploaded you'll see me playing a bit sloppily, I have been having some controller trouble for the last hour, with occasional input lag, which cost a few runs. World 8 is going to be a thing, it looks like

I recorded all of World 7 last week, editing and uploading them one by one. Also managed to perfect 8-1, but the recording is over 10 Gigabytes in size, so that probably won't be edited until the weekend - but do look forward to it, it was super challenging!

I find Zerynex to be one of the easier bosses on Hard Mode, maybe even the easiest. Heck, the squeaky missiles do less damage than the regular ones!

Looking forward to 8-1. I haven't made a serious attempt at that in a while, maybe I will after I see how you handle Hard Mode.

Episode 64: Amethyst Vortex

I do much better with Savant than with Boki here, but that was due to some controller issues I have having for that entire recording session (sometimes input would suddenly lag a second behind). The secret to beating hard mode is careful usage of remote and the available magic barriers!

Oh man, big update today! World 8 was chaotic, loads of recording sessions reaching the hour long mark. World 9 starts off with a boss, who is fairly easy... except when it comes to getting the Damage requirement with Boki. It doesn't seem to be possible to block the attacks, and near the end of the fight there are three weapons attacking Boki simultaneously very quickly. Before that part, there is a long section of the fight where the boss has shields that block 2/3rds of your attacks and require somewhat close range to attack effectively. Anyways, that recording session took three hours! But it is possible, and hopefully the strategy developed for Boki will work for anyone else trying to 100% this game.

Or, get the cookie with Savant, because he's super overpowered

Or, was... Savant was completely revamped for the new version of Copy Kitty. I have access to the Beta, I'll be trying out the new Savant this weekend. Can't wait!

Oh, Ethereal Realm has a really high damage limit because that's just a thing all my levels do -- i used to really not like the requirement being 'don't get hit'. Its treated as a 'boss' level anyways though so it having a non-zero limit does make sense.

It definitely has the difficulty of a boss level! Thanks for giving it a fairly high damage allowance, otherwise I'd probably still be trying to get the level cookie!

How would you like your level pack played? One level at a time meeting requirements, like the way my videos are now, or a marathon through them (like, 20 minutes of playing at a time)? If you'd rather wait for your beta to be released, that's totally fine, but I'm interested in playing both the old and new level packs :)

It looks like I used Bow/Pike/Axe on Exchikkalibur (I am probably spelling that wrong), I found that really effective for whatever reason. More effective than other combinations I'd tried.

I had a ton of trouble getting the low damage with Savant on the previous version, and getting through Hard Mode at all with Boki, but after a low-damage run with Boki I imagine neither would be that complicated. The projectiles aren't too bad if you specifically draw them away, though obviously you have to deal with them pretty often.

The main tactical trick I found was to only attack him after a charge, just so I wouldn't get caught off guard if he did charge at me.

For quite a while, this was the last world of Copy Kitty, ending with the amazing final boss "Arikan", a sword-wielding robot with honor and great skill. I had been looking forward to this battle from the beginning - I had never tried to get all the challenges against this boss before, nor had I tried to face Arikan on Hard Mode. Wasn't aware before watching this that switching off Astral would give you a different projectile weapon. That's neat. Not super-useful, but interesting.

And yes, I love how ridiculous the battle gets on Hard Mode, it's wonderful.

I think that's definitely the only way to do it, it can be so tricky to actually follow what's going on during the sword fight! The only reason I didn't stick to the pattern was to be flexible, but I think your idea is exactly right.

I didn't know that either until I tried during the recording! I figured that if Arikan could fire projectiles, Boki could too. It's actually really useful for when you get a bit of distance from Arikan - just pummel him with it, since it doesn't lose power like the Astral blade does. It also allows all the blade's powers to recharge for when Arikan comes in for the attack!

And yes, I love how ridiculous the battle gets on Hard Mode, it's wonderful.

Huh, that's a much smaller and more open arena than the one in the last version. I guess it's to make it harder to just get a block between you and Arikan, a tactic that I found very helpful.

I feel like the fight had more character in the old arena. Still, this is a great boss, so that's just nitpicking.

Hypercube Krijyl is probably the hardest boss in the game.

For Boki, I found the big trick was to learn when the laser grid was coming - as Savant says in the defeat hints, he always uses the same attacks in the same order - and get close to ground level. If you're higher up, it's harder to be sure where the safe spots are and the extra time scanning the screen might be enough that you take a hit, but if you're close to the ground you'll never have to move very far.

Naturally, Savant's flight means he always has a nearby safe spot and makes things easier for him. Still a pretty tough fight, though.

You should definitely look forward to this boss fight in the next version of Copy Kitty - I beta tested the new normal and hard mode versions, it's amazing, and the high-gravity and low gravity gimmicks of the boss make much more sense, and are actually put to good use. The hypercube makes much more sense too. And the satellite is even more sassy and talkative :D :D

I do agree that Krijyl on its own is the hardest boss in the game, but the one that took the longest to cookie with Boki was, by far, Excikkalibor (or however you spell it!). That low damage requirement was so tough with Boki (and of course Savant got it on his first try - moral of the story, cookie the game with Savant, haha). I hope you keep going with your personal 100% run, so far no levels have been impossible with either character! :)
