Looking for Lpers

Post by Plutigvid »

I was recently watching naka's LP and got a good idea. I want to do a 4 way LP with 3 other people of the game "Kirby And The Amazing Mirror" which is an old kirby game for the GBA, that supports 4 person multiplayer. I just thought getting 4 people playing this classic of a game together would be awesome.
What we're going to do is, I have a GBA emulator that allows you to do multiplayer online. So I was thinking we all use this emulator, link up, have a 4 way skype conversation while playing, and have someone edit 4 screens onto one video. (I would do it personally but I can't figure out how to do it on my software :( ) Then the one who edits it sends all of us the video, and we all upload.

I think it would be a blast. Anyone want to join in?

You'd have to use Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere Studio...

If you figure it out and we can set up a time that isn't conflicting with my schedule I'm in.

Hmmm... Maybe I can do the editing then. I may be able to use a trial lol.

But cool, welcome aboard :D

Ironically, I already did an LP of this game single-player, and considering it was my favorite LP I've done so far, I would totally be super excited to do this if you want to include me.

Here's a link to the playlist if you want examples

DO WANT. I beat this game way back when and it's still one of my favorites, but I could never convince anyone else to play it with me, I would love it so bad.

... Why is that? I'm still kind of a novice at this whole thing and my knowledge of recording and editing software is not all that up to snuff. :/ One way or another though, my programs are incapable of doing split screen business (is that what you meant?) but some shenanigans with screen transitions as our screens battle for supremacy when stuff goes crazy could be hilarious.

The largest obstacle to me participating in this project is that I'm using a free version of Expression 4 Encoder that is limited to ten minutes at a time of screen recording, which means desynchs between our split screens is a very real possibility. :/ I would so love to do it though...

I want to have you join, but that desync thing would be a real issue.... Hmmm.... Maybe there could be a way to work this out. Have you ever thought about using Hyper cam?

I had not. I'm a little worried about it being compatible with Windows 7 (I don't see it listed on the main page), and I don't have an editing program for .avi, though I'm pretty sure I could find one that I tested and dropped previously if I could remember the name of it, but I could certainly try it out.

EDIT: I've downloaded it, and there are no compatibility issues, however, the program is only capable of recording either computer sound or microphone sound. Ordinarily that would be a deal breaker for me (I don't know of any easy cheat to make my microphone automatically play back at me through my speakers to work around that limitation) but in this sort of a LP where we'd be on Skype, I really don't need to be recording my own voice, since someone else will be picking it up. Hypercam seems like it would work fine for the project.

I would have joined in, but I have an unreliable internet connection. Just wouldn't be a good idea on my end.
