Wario is kind of completely broken. Having those lakitus probably makes him even more powerful than a hammer suit when he has basic powerups. It's a great idea and all, but I don't see how you can not thoroughly break every single idea of a level with those lakitus (and nevermind the "kill everything on the screen instantly" tanuki power). I hope these grievances get fixed in MAGLX3, since my opinion is the only one that is valid.

You basically just described ASMBXT right there.

I definitely feel like the troop numbers were a bit... off-kilter.

Also why does Wario walk around with his eyes closed? Silly Wario.

Here is a playthrough of the level. I made it a little faster too, and made sure that you have enough bombs at the end. For some reason the generators don't like to work on that particular room.

So why did Wario had pretty much nothing to do with Wario? No shoulder charge, no ground stomp, none of his actual powerups? I was actually excited when I saw it was wario but now "disappointed" is an understatement. Even Smash gave him more justice, and that's saying something.

Like why isn't it Kamek instead or something? It'd have made a lot more sense. Also I have a hard time imagining how a portable pow block can be incorporated as a good gameplay element in levels. Bowser is ok though.

Wario and Bowser huh?

Wario seemed a bit odd (why are his eyes closed?), but Bowser seemed kinda fun. Also, I think Bowser's shell should be spiked (plus his "shoes" look a bit funny). I hope there are balance changes with some of the characters so they don't seem broken though. Additionally, if anyone has a climbing animation of Bowser, I'd like to see it.

They were like that on the sprite sheet it was ripped from. They are a little less cartoony in style.

Edit: The eyes are those dark vertical lines near the nose. The horizontal line is too low for me to be interpreted as an eye too.

Well that's a little different from how I expected Wario and Bowser would play. It's very impressive and looks fun to play but I'm a little worried that their moveset is a little out of character and too game breakingly strong.

Now I want Link to do that upstab/downstab on ladders as his normal behavior. Janky as it looks, it still feels more natural than turning into a fairy every time there's a climbable surface behind him.

"Fan favorite" doesn't narrow it down any. Every playable character in every Smash game was a fan favorite.

Today's characters looked unique for the sake of being unique.

They don't really offer anything in terms of gameplay. It felt like one of those levels that hands you a billy gun at the start so you just murder everything in your path. I can't seem myself ever wanting to use these characters.

And I just now looked over Wario's power-ups again.
The stuff there would fit so well into SMBX, and sounds relavitely simple to implement, too.
That stuff, is what I was expecting from today's level.

I can't believe we will be able to play as Mario AND Metal Mario finally.
(To be fair, I'd actually want a Metal Mario. Or Metal Box powerup. I guess it's basically like a starman though.)

I agree that the summoning thing seems... odd and unfitting for Wario.
Bowser though did have somewhat fitting powerups (fire breath, higher jump, I'd change the specifics but that part looks pretty appropiate), and I guess spawning minions does make more sense for him (although it'd probably be better if they weren't just rotating options nor dependant on Bowser's own powerup, but also a more throrough mess to make)
Actually it'd be funny if he just picked up minions and tossed them, like Dedede.

Honestly this is my issue with all of these characters. I'd be a lot more excited if they weren't all over-the-top gimmicky. Default SMBX characters all work in the same levels 99% of the time, but all of these characters would completely break normal levels and thus need special levels made for them. On top of lots of these mechanics being weird and often downright janky, it's just kinda like.... cool technology yo but they'd be better off as a separate script than straight up included in the game given their weird and dissonant nature with everything else.
