I found charge slash to be fairly useless, and I LOVE the Mega Buster. But seeing as you can't just keep it charged up forever...
Downstab charge up armor, otoh, is easily the best of the bunch except for the heavy one. It murders the game, especially considering how much the pogo alone cheeses a lot of bosses, as we have seen already.

Silver Armor is best armor.

If I was playing I'd probably go for the armor that lets you regenerate magic points, and spam projectiles all day.

Silver armor is best of the best because charge swing is OP and its shiny-cool.
Purple armor is for super pros.
Black armor is for wimps (not true its just that knockback is rarely an issue).
Red armor what red armor.
Gold armor is I'M MR. MEESEEKS LOOKIT MEEE
The shovel upgrades are interesting to me because despite seeming completely useless compared to your shovel pogo, they require a lot of skill and ingenuity to use well and can outclass just bouncing on everything. The spark was a good purchase for the incoming two stages.

Red Armor was the only one I actually bothered to use because I wasn't really sure how to get the silver one to work (description kinda confused me), and I didn't really use relics other than the Flare Wand outside of where they were actually necessary so I had no interest in purple.

The caster armor is generally considered the best, because it's a flat +50 max magic, which frankly is a lot, and magic's really powerful when you know what you're doing with it - but you take an extra half-heart of damage from everything in the game so you're (at best) halving your survivability. It's basically the For Pros option.
The charge slash armor is actually really good once you have the hang of it; basically you bounce twice on something in succesion and then your next swing has a much increased size and double damage. Beyond that though the reduced gold drops and possibly the super armor armor are really good choices.
gold armor is exactly what it says on the tin
either way if you're seeking out secrets and doing optional stages you should get enough gold by the end of the game to buy everything anyway so yay 8D

Ignore everyone saying the gold armor is all Bling-Bling; it increases your jump height!
By about, 2 pixels or so. Maybe less, I forget.
It also makes your jump really acrobatic looking!

It also lets you use the catapults without faceplanting, and changes one thing in the penultimate stage.

Today's thread title lacks creativity.
And yeah, raocow missed a lot of things in Plague Knight's stage.
Also, how does alchemy connect to the Plague?

They probably spent a lot of time and effort to try and cure the plague back in the day, with the contemporary research methods. Read: alchemy, aka "throwing shit at a wall and hope it sticks explodes".

rao, you really kind of have to use those relics you keep getting!!! baz would probably have been a lot easier if you used those anchors while he was swinging around instead of jumping directly into him.
I realize you do that with pretty much every game ever but still

Plague Knight might also both create plaques as well as cure and research them. I think he is one of the funnier characters in the game.

In this Episode: raocow forgets he has an invincibility technique.

Not sure if this 100% answers your question but it's probably better than any other source.
Also raocow's lucky that the developers were nice and made a double kill not affect the player ultimately.

I had to do a bit of research of alchemy myself, but there are I think the three main goals of alchemy: Transmutation of common metals to gold, discovering a universal solvent (Alkahest), and creating a panacea i.e. a universal remedy.
Plague Knight was suppose to do the last one, but just was doing the second one, and judging from the stage, a lot of Alkahest is being used.

After watching an Assassin's Creed II playthrough of all things, I understand why Plague Knight looks the way he does. Those street doctors had those bird-shaped helmet things like that back in the day in a foolish attempt to try and ward off infection. Go figure.

They wore it to look scary so infected plague victims wouldn't mob them in a desperate attempt to do something that would save them.
Also they put herbs and stuff in the nose part so they didn't have to smell the plague stuff.
Also also, covering your mouth is something we do even in the modern day to reduce chance of infection.

Got it. You're adding on to my info that I totally took from an SA user named Geop's ACII videos.
Oh, and raocow. After watching the video more, you do have an item that makes sections where you thought had crazy timing a bit easier. Amazed you handled the triple pillars of fire near the pit so easily, but I guess I shouldn't be. And wow, you actually know what VGCW is. Yay!

Only the Phase Locket.
The Plague Doctors have a PhD in
funktastic rhythm. The explodatorium is actually a secret disco rave party. But they don't want anyone to know how advanced their science has truly become: They figured out how to bottle disco in flasks.

There ain't nothing foolish about those plauge doctor outfits, actually.
