finally, the secret is out
I don't know how to read, everything I write down is sheer coincidence if it makes any sense.

That's how you approach spoken language too, right?

Can the buttons in the 3ds version be redefined beyond switching between Castlevania and Mario?
No, I was just pointing out that you can do things not available on the NES.
Does anyone else find the idea of using a fishing pole underwater to be a bit strange?

it's more like a treasure salvage than a fishing pole, but yeah.

Straight talk:
I've seen "press a button with the right timing" fishing minigames before, and I still think it makes no sense. What kind of fishing is that, where you have to, like, yank the fishing pole up at the exact right moment? Instead of letting the fish get stuck eating your bait, are you catching fish by pulling the hook through them suddenly when they swim past? What?

When you go fishing irl you have to manually set the hook. I think that's what the prompt is supposed to signify. You wait patiently until it feels like you have something then you yank on the pole a bit to set the hook then start reeling in.

Clearly raocow's just been using google translate converting english from Quebecois french this entire time. Yoshi is just a obscure french slang word for Horse.

The thing is we can't prove or disprove this until he says "ablebbybloobyblaaaaaaghhggh" right in front of the Queen of England.
Which is fairly probable.

Fun Fact: Reize is from Valdis Story: Abyssal City, hence the second title of the thread today.

No not really. He is just a kickstarter dude who gets his original character donut steel in games. He does not actually have a game of his own.
Also next hammer bro he should meet is created by Two Best Friends Play people, Woolie and/or Matt i believe.
He is quite the character.

$1000-tier backers got implemented to the game as special mini-boss encounters.
Also, Mr. Hat does have a pretty nice suit.

According to
Showel Knight wiki "He first appeared in another indie title called Valdis Story".
Edit: Valdis Story was kickstarted too, so it is possible he appeared there the same way.

Can't wait for Mr. Hat, he was my favorite
Rao missed a bunch of the secret notes in Treasure Knight's place, but the stuff there was pretty easy to miss on the first go. I don't think he's going for 100% notes, anyway.

yeah, that's pretty much it. I go for stuff that I notice but I won't return for things unless what I miss is fairly major like a powerup or something

You don't have to even do that, really.
If you miss a level's chest, you can just buy the item directly from Chester in town.

He isn't, he's actually a rejected Street Fighter II character that was approppriated by them and shoved everywhere in an attempt to make him public domain.

Nah, I'd say the one-dig treasure pile dig is the most useless shovel upgrade.
He really should have gotten the charge slash though.

That one at least saves you time digging the piles
and makes that one guy go all "omfg you dug it in one mighty swing!!"
. The groundspark thingy barely does anything when it
does fire, even.

The groundspark can be pretty helpful for bosses if you go in with full health. I think you can also completely cheese black knight with it.
