I didn't show this last time, so here's Treeko's summary.
So here we are on route 101 proper. It's time we start our journey, but first Birch wants us to find May.
Of course we can fight some dudes here, but nuzlocke rules don't come into effect until we have our pokéballs.
So as we arrive in Odale town this Lady wants to give me potions immediately. Nothing really worth buying in the mart yet, but I'll take an extra healing item.
Huh. Promising.
So, we head into the Pokécenter. First thing to do in a Nuzlocke is set up your death box. Mine looks fittingly like Heaven.
Well, we can't go over to route 102 yet because of this guy. Fun times. Thankfully May's up in route 103.
And here we are in route 103. Still no dudes yet. Just you wait, we're getting there!
Pretty soon we find May. And you guessed it, she wants to BATTLE!
Here we go! As you'd expect, she starts with the starter that's strong against yours. Seems like an unfair matchup, but thankfully neither of us know elemental moves yet.
So things go pretty well to start off…
Until we get hit with our first critical hit. What an omen. I… actually got a little scared when this happened.
But of course we are the victor! We level up and all!
After the defeat, humble May wants to go back to the lab.
Of course, our first battle means our first Pokécenter healing. Many more where that came from.
We get back to the pretty easily, and as a reward for our courage we get the Pokédex! Wee!
And Pokéballs! Woosh! Okay, so this means nuzlocke rules are in effect. A short explanation below for those who are unfamiliar. Plus, I have a couple of my own so you should probably look.
1. Only one new pokémon may be caught per route. It's the first one you encounter. If that pokémon faints or flees, too bad. Move on to the next area.
2. If a pokémon faints, it is considered dead. Put it in your death box and never use it again.
3. You must nickname all your Pokémon. For this LP, I've decided to name them all after talkhausers! I already have a new name for Treeko, but I have to get to the name rater to rename him.
4. Duplicates Clause. If you encounter a pokemon, or a pre-evolution of a pokémon you've already caught, you can't catch it. Run away and catch the next thing.
5. No Legendaries. You can catch them if you want, but they must NOT be used on your team.
Now with the Pokédex, I can see this important information! Hooray!
So after coming back outside, my mom wants to give me the running shoes. Now we can DAAASHHH
So you'd expect we'd catch our first duder on the first route. However, we technically got Treeko on route 101, so our first duder will be on route 103. And here he is!
Our first pokémon is gonna be a Poochyena, looks like. I actually really like this guy. Or girl, as the case is.
So we're in a bit of a tight spot. After one hit she loses more than half of her health. We gotta chance this one!
Woo! Our first mon caught!
So for our first talkhaus-named mon, I've named our Poochyena An0maly! I don't know why, but it seems to fit :)
So turns out sketcher dude messed up… so onto route 102 with us. We'll catch our third duder and that will be it for this episode.
And it is a Seedot! Well, yeah, double grass, double dark types aside this poke is cool.
Aaaand… got her!
I've decided to name this one after SugarFrosted, at his request.
Well that's about it for this one. With a few duders at my side, grinding them up will be our next course of action before moving on. I'll probably not show that.
