I like to read the comments too, but I do use it sometimes and for watching some of the older videos and series.

the embed size is nice, but ive been missing some days of videos so going to youtube directly and seeing which is "watched" already helps a lot in knowing what I missed.

I used it up until the Talkhaustraphe. Since it didn't get updated at all for months after that I stopped using it and always forget it even exists now. Youtube is more convenient for rao's most recent videos anyways since he's not the only person I'm subscribed to plus Raolists works just fine for older videos.

raocow.com is more for looking up old videos. How would it help you for new videos any more than just going to his channel?

I literally have raocow's channel open in a separate window on my other monitor that gets refreshed periodically at approximate times when the videos are expected to come up.

Haven't really made a comment on this in... ever actually. Not much to comment on other than "oh man some of these levels look like they'd wreck my face". Although I have played the game somewhat, in a mix of both Light and Dark world levels up to Hell, and in terms of the Hospital, that one with the fans did give trouble, but really the whole thing with fans is that it's all about timing. Really, that's it. You just need to time your entry to give yourself just enough push to enter the next one consistently.
Because Touhou OCs can in fact exist, sounds fake I know.

I can't change my username but I go by Vali/Claire now (aka call me Vali or Claire at your leisure ^^).

I never update this currently playing section anymore, it's probably an RPG or something.

I love how all the episodes are prefaced with "Oh man, everyone told me this is the hardest thing ever so only expect one level today kids.", then proceeds to beat it anyway, then A+ it. Everyone just constantly underestimates how well the guy who now literally plays mario romhacks for a living, would be able to handle platforming.

Also, you can tell what % of people used the achivement unlocker on this game as all the "clear ____ dark world without dying" achivements all have exactly 0.7% on them.

It's only been more than half a decade of LPs, clearly it's not obvious enough by now.

"So how does glitch girl work?"

Good question!

1. Glitch girl can only appear once you've defeated an area's Light World boss. As you've figured out, the glitch stage is also shared between light and dark worlds, and can be found in either. There isn't one for Cotton Alley.

2. Glitch girl's appearances are random. The appearance rate is tied to your area completion %. At best, ie with 100% completion of that world, glitch girl has a... either 1/10 or 1/20 chance of appearing, I forget which, but it's still fairly small (But not nearly as small as the like 1/1000 chance if you're at a minimum %). Therefore, if she doesn't show up while you play the dark world, wait until it's complete to 'farm' for her.

3. Whether she appears or not is determined every time you start or restart a stage for any reason - including dying. Every world has a Light World stage where you can see her immediately on spawning, and if she's not there, you can just die; these are the ideal locations for making her show up.

Also I know speedrunners who would kill to have the glitch girl luck you've had so far raocow

The funny thing about this is, back in the day when raocow played SMW non-stop, he would do tricky maneuvers and specific jumps like they were breathing oxygen, and was already knowledgeable about most quirks of the SMW engine. But once he started to branch out more often into other things, I feel like this amazing SMW prowess kinda took a plunge and was replaced with more general skill that has both its ups and downs. Sometimes raocow will fail a basic movement that he did way easier like five years ago, and it's weird if you've been watching him since the old days.

He also save-summed pretty frequently for a while, you have to remember that he wasn't always so reluctant to use them.

This is true, but I definitely don't mean jumps he would casually make because he attempted them ten times through save states first. I wouldn't count that at all if that's what I meant, haha. (Still, he was probably way more relaxed as a result?)

Watching raocow inspired me to actually go back and play this game instead of just backlogging it forever. I've been playing along to some extent, but I did the thing everyone says not to do and played all the light and dark worlds back to back. It's not nearly as hard as everyone says, at least up to Rapture. I went full light world at that point just to see the ending and try out some Cotton Alley levels.

I'm at 88% now, and I can say with complete confidence that raocow is crazy good and you guys are super overrating how hard things will be for him. I don't see him losing entire videos to anything that I've actually beaten. Maybe there are a couple horrible ones in dark Rapture/The End/Cotton Alley, but based on the 7/8ths of the game that I've seen, there's nothing he can't handle.

I actually watched a live video of someone getting 'Girl Boy'/'Impossible Boy'. It was pretty amazing. I personally stalled out at about Salt Boy/Hell Boy.

People overhype the difficulty of Dark Rapture more than any other part of the game I've seen. If you're good enough to get through Cotton Alley and Dark Hell, Dark Rapture is not going to present a big problem for you.

nah dark rapture isn't overhyped, speaking from the point of view of someone who played dark cotton alley and dark rapture back to back, dark rapture is overall harder

this is because rapture has all the most annoying things in it (repulsor orbs, phantos, missiles)
i've honestly never played a video game in my life

Like Parama said, it is a bit more difficult just due to the annoying things. I beat all light world levels up to Four Letter Word and all dark world levels up to dark Hell just fine. I managed a couple of dark Cotton Alley levels before I lost my save but I never managed to complete even a single dark Rapture level. (I only beat like 3 in dark Cotton Alley either but that's still 3/20 versus 0/20.)

It shouldn't be a massive issue for raocow though still. He's more than skilled enough for it and he's beaten more difficult things.
