Would this be it, or is this TOO old? http://web.archive.org/web/200706301608 ... dMusic.zip

Really? I tried that jump like 5 times before giving up and deciding to do the rest of the game first. Once I got that upgrade, I made it on my first try.

have you tried holding the jump button until the jump height is at maximum? kinda a stupid question but yea.
raocow should be able to make that jump with his current upgrades.
i can vouch for it too along with gaurocks since i could make it at raocow's current state

Maybe I just have bad timing. :) I really suck at those jumps where, if you jump too early, you stick to the bottom of a ceiling and lose your upwards momentum.

youll get the hang of it as the game progresses on, at areas that require you to do your jumps correctly.

unrelated note: i beat the final boss in AUS, 98% completion on normal (missed 2 hearts cause it was too annoying to do), lol

Actually I've already beaten the game on normal and am now attempting to beat the final area of the game on masterful. Still suck at those jumps, though.

Aw, someone beat me to posting the old boss music. It really is a good song, and if he's willing to give certain bosses unqiue songs, I think he should at least give it back to the first six bosses (up to GrottoEye). But that's just me.

I guess I should post in this thread sooner or later, seeing as I was a tester for this. It should be noted, however, that I didn't care so much about balance as I did glitches, especially since I got pretty good after playing through the early parts about a hundred times.

The exception to that is that I'm SURE I must have complained about the final area on Masterful at some point. But I guess he only cares about making things easier for first-time players and people on lower difficulties.

So, in short, if anyone didn't see the bubbles, it's all my fault for being more observant than you.

I finished with 97% on Normal. Some of the hidden areas are truly hidden well. Definitely a new favorite game of mine, right up there with Cave Story and La Mulana.

(Oh god raocow lping la mulana we'd be at 100+ parts I estimate)

Oh god, with how long it took him to see the air bubbles in this game I do not even want to imagine raocow playing La-Mulana. He'd be wandering around Guidance Gate for hours.

I have to say - I'm surprised that your reaction to the boss wasn't "more"

I mean, I'm a fairly reserved guy, but I shouted like a six year old girl the first time that he burst through the wall. Maybe I just have a previously unknown irrational fear of underwater ice dragon snakes.

Now that raocow has seen them: the ghosts are random. They show up fairly rarely, and can be in about half of the rooms of the game (according to the creator). I don't really mind them, but I kind of wish they didn't show up in DeepDive. They're very distracting, which isn't good when you're on limited air. It's also not fun when you're in the last room of that narrow three room tunnel at the bottom of DeepDive and one pops up blocking the hallway in front of you.

I don't know if they do damage or kill you or what, because they always show up at an inconvenient time to test that. Anyone want to chime in?

No list update today. Just pretend it's the same as yesterday's update, except that the counter says 14/2 and two of the four new hearts are taken off there along with one ability. I know, it's amazing. Almost like I actually did stuff.

The best part is that save rooms are not excluded, or at least not all of them are. I once loaded my game (I had saved in StoneCastle) and instantly got ghost'd.

I'm playing on Normal and I've had it be between 1 and 3. It seems to be random each time.

Ugh, I'm jealous of raocow. I decided I'd play An Untitled Story a few days ago, and I found the Bonus room. I've literally done it like 30 times and I only recently got the heart, and I haven't been able to get the ability yet. He got them both on his 1st attempt of them! Oh well...

They don't instakill you, but they do quite a bit of damage and also push you around, which means that it's very likely you'll get pushed into obstacles and take damage multiple times, or even get trapped in a corner where you can't get out of. The ghosts were a pretty unnecessary addition in my opinion.

P.S. The chance of ghosts appearing increases with both the difficulty you're playing on and the amount of gold orbs you have collected.

EDIT:
raocow wrote:You know what they say, luck favours fools!
In the 3 times that I've played through this game, it never took me more than 4 attempts to get both the orb and heart. At first I thought that it was graciously programmed into the game so that you always get them as the first few prizes, but apparently I'm just really lucky! :P

Thanks for that information. THAT`S why i never saw them on Simple, allthough i played for 10 hours, and i encountered them TWICE IN 5 MINUTES today on Masterful. First time was in the Stone Castle save, where it didn´t matter at all, and 5 minutes later they appeared in the room above, and they pwned me ( one hit did 280 damage and i already had 2 Toughness upgrades)

hmm, just curious. what paths did everyone take when playing this game. like which areas did you do first and which later.
for me its
NightWalk > Grotto > DeepTower > ColdKeep > NightClimb > SkyTown > Farfall > StrangeCastle > Mountside > StoneCastle > [Hatch] > Grotto[upper] > Deepdive > Blancland > Skysand > TheBottom > CloudRun > Firecage > Deepdive > LongBeach > TheCurtain > NightWalk[upper] > DarkGrotto > Skylands > UnderTomb > IceCastle > BlackCastle
I think that i wrote all of the areas, but im not sure.

I always jump a little when the ghost appear, because I'm never expecting them.

Also, one time when I was playing this, the ghosts appeared three rooms in a row. I was not happy.

Just a suggestion, but if there's going to be posts that are mainly spoilers, wouldn't it just be a better idea to make a general topic in 'the rest' for the game?

Protip: Walking on ceilings is an ability you get later.

edit by raocow: watch out there mate. Luckily (spoilers?) I stumbled on this in the video for tomorrow. It is a good thing! But yeah, that ain't a 'tip'. I don't mind being said like 'oh hey you missed something back in nightwalk it's somewhere over there' but not details, and not methods, and not 'what the exact thing is'.

Anywho, the deed is done. Consider this a warning!
