If I remember correctly, I seem to recall that odd, non-accessible pipe in the Green Greens leading to one of those Happy Goomba secret areas that you can only reach by revisiting random stages after hitting switches which appear later in the game and checking whether anything has changed. Now that I think about it, if you play this hack through as raocow's doing, only visiting each stage once and always getting every secret exit immediately after the normal exit, it's actually possible to miss quite a great deal of content--including the entire secret world, for which you really don't get the slightest hint that it even exists unless you by sheer chance happen to stumble upon it.

At least raocow replays this game and thus at least knows about the existence of the secret world.

Well, that's not entirely true,
for you see, the entire top right area of the world map is part of the secret world, so it should be pretty obvious that you are missing something by the end of the game if you didn't find it. Finding out how to access it is way more tricky, although it is pretty suspicious that Area 16B is the only level in the entire game marked by a big dot, so it's not completely unfair either. If anything, the way it's hidden reminds me of traditional platformer design, for instance something like DKC3s secret world.
Also, unless raocow remembers stuff, tomorrows video will be a thing.
I actually don't like old Aquaria that much, at least in concept. I really think the way to access the exit is pretty unfair, which is unusual for this game; even though to be fair if you think about it it's pretty obvious that
the only place where it would make sense level design wise to hide the switch is the room it's hidden at, because it has to be between the midpoint and the part where the level loops, and it's easy to see that it definitely isn't in the other "possible" rooms as long as you check for hidden walls.
Once you do know the secret though, it's a pretty fun level.

I wonder where that section where kirby 'fell' went, and how you would reach the exit from there.

Hotel Horror was a genius level. The atmosphere and everything was great. You even had to use logic!
Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be all caught up.

I'm pretty sure raocow missed a message block which warns you about the Kaizo trap in Old Aquaria. I wonder if this might not be another instance of raocow being undone by having some memory of the level, as he seems to go straight to business, seeking out the midpoint and ghosty area (which took me a while to find the first time I played) almost immediately, whereas a person exploring blindly without any knowledge of what they're supposed to be seeking probably would have found the message block (which I seem to recall being in an insignificant, but not particularly well-hidden place) simply by accident.

That said, a lot of people seem to dislike this level, but it's always been one of my favorites--I like it almost as much as Hotel Horror. It really is a genuinely difficult puzzle, and challenges you to try all sorts of crazy things to figure it out. And has a ton of atmosphere--despite using most of the same graphics, FPI nevertheless succeeds in making Old Aquaria feel significantly older than Neo Aquaria, which is already old to begin with.

I don't think you ever found that Yoshi room in your first run of this game. That definitely made the last part of the level easier, that's for sure!

He might have warned the player for the kaizo trap, but it is still pretty pointless. Why was the switch there in the first place? It's not like it influenced any other part of the level. Unless there is another path raocow didn't take that I might forget about?

Lots of highlights this video!
-Snoop Dogg's in the related videos, yo.
-Pokey falling on you.
-Birds in the background. You can actually hear them, if you listen in!
-Kaizo trap!
-The ultra chipmunk at the end that sounds kinda like singing.

I would have never thought that ambush by pokey would be possible. This has to go into A2MT

When Roacow found the room with the switch, I was reminded of similair things in AUS. Except this time he didn't break into crazy laughter.

The goal can be reached from the start of the level in less then a minute, the whole point of the level is to find the switch in order to access the goal. This isn't so clear from the video because raocow managed to find the midpoint (and subsequently the path you oughta take to find the switch) before finding the endgoal.

However, I would have prefered if FPI had simply blocked the goal with switchable blocks instead of this, even though if you don't do what raocow did you really won't lose much progress from the trap.

Yes it is, you negative Nelly, you.

Actually, question about the SMWC collaboration. To those of you who've played it, how long is it? I'd actually like to play along at the same pace as raocow.

probably a full hack length. It'll be long. I doubt anyone here is a beta tester though.

It uses all levels, so it has 96 exits or something. And it should be released in september. Although we all know that bug fixing might take a bit longer.

Also, I don't care what you say about this level raocow, it's always been one of my favourites!

I think I counted 93 playable levels when I sent my credits list to raocow. Of course, I still need to confirm that before the hack's release (which should still hopefully be this month if all goes well).

On topic: I loved Old Aquaria when I played TSRP2 a long time ago. Something about puzzle levels always draws me in.

YouTube likes raocow today, it seems. The unintentional anti-chipmunk moment was unexpected yet a bit funny too.

Frankly I have no idea what would be the cause of this. I've seen videos going bad when compressed, though videos being initially fine going bad like this after upload... odd.

The desync is bad enough to consider reuploading it.

But it is really strange that this is happening. Because the editing has been done and it's just a video to youtube. They don't know anything is sped up..
