HACK - THREAD: feat. the TSRP2 thread

Post by 10204307 »

This looks awesome, and weird at the same time.
Whats up with gimmick hacks not having custom music?

I love the ideas Jacob put in.

He's just a great hacker overall.

I just played through this hack a couple of days ago. It's really nice
although the ending is annoying to get, but it's well worth it :P
, and rao's commentary was top-notch today.

Hahaha, I played through this a few days ago. It's pretty fun, and I love the gimmicks. I hate how many times you have to go through the final level, though.

I was expecting this. It's a quick little hack, and really quite enjoyable.

Should be nice to watch.

It's a good hack but the only reason I'm not really excited for this is because I literally played this hack yesterday and seeing it immediately after is a bit stupid.

Not that you can do anything about that. It's just bad timing.

I suppose I wanted it to still have a SMW feel to it. Plus, I guess I was a bit lazy this time around. :P

Well, it's good to see an LP soon after the release. Looks like raocow stays current.

It's typically not something I like to do, since I want to give the games 'time to live' so to speak, but I made an exception for this one. I love gimmick hacks and I want them to be more!

oh man I just played this all the way to the end! it was a great fun type thing.
also i tried to horribly mutilate the hack by trying to find the last "bonus" part and removing the invisible wall but there is no "search for levels with 3up moons" option in lunar magic whoops

The hack is pretty cool, and a perfect game for you to LP raocow, for the single fact that it is a gimmick hack.

Yeah, I played through it a few days ago as well... It's cool, but annoying at parts.

Hey Jacob, did you actually code all those things yourself? because even if you didn't, your hack's still really cool, I guess I'm just curious.

Wasn't expecting this.

Nope, I just used whatever custom sprites and blocks were available to download at SMWCentral, plus I put in a few requests for other ones.

It's pretty cool to see how Jacob's hacking style has matured through the years. (I.E. compare Super Mario World + to HACK)

Oh no! raocow is playing a Super Mario World hack! That means his videos are lame now!

Some of these challenges are obviously inspired by Super Mario Galaxy 2 (purple coins, spinning while changing platforms).

For the spinning level, do the platforms also change if your Cape Mario and you just cape spin?

I'll echo those sentiments. One day, I'll be caught up with all these videos I've missed out on, but I figured I could at least watch this one with no problem. Pretty fun deal going on here.

I'm enjoying this little palette cleanser. It's kinda weird how much I missed Mario, but I really did, though I guess it has just as much to do with the fact that raocow is just plain good at Mario.

I'm looking forward to another Mario hack A-Side.

P.S. I'm not actually new. I've been watching raocow on Youtube for over a year or two now, but I lost my login info for the forums. If you know the name HeroPenguin... Hey. That's me. :P

You don't have to keep Luigi on screen.
He processes all the time, for some reason.
