raomao you got Bowser Jr. and Baby Bowser backward, and as a theologian of the deep lore of the Mario franchise I am offended.

Seriously though the first phase of that fight was pretty terrible. Second half was kind of a nice spin on SMB3 Bowser though.

raocow missed a Hammer Suit today.

To be fair, it's hidden in a pretty counter-intuitive place.

Hey raocow, it wasn't just you. Because the Baby Bowser sprite is bigger than SMB3 Bowser, it does affect his 'attributes'. Other that being larger, he no longer fits into the 'grid' of blocks, and it's harder to predict where he will land.

That boss was also more difficult to jump over, making it harder to dodge the fire.

Y'all remember It's a Wonderful Demo, that ASMBXT level I made? I've often thought I should have modified the Bowser fight at the end... but now I'm thinking I'm glad I didn't. nyoro~n

Show of hands, who expected rao to accidentally pick up that frozen hothead when he was talking about how much the ice flower helped?

So, how many deaths do you think raocow will have tomorrow?

Fun fact, that invisible spin block is actually part of a massive shortcut.

If you have the blue (and maybe yellow) blocks active, you can go through the wall and not die on the other end.

That was a good Bowser boss fight. It helps that you are given 4 projectiles to work with at a time, instead of one by one.

Well, that castle level happened. At least you only need three out of four switch colors active.

Also, tomorrow is most likely going to be a thing.

Today raocow's theory that Clown Cars can shrink people was further supported by the big spooky turtle himself.

You know, this castle level with the switches was really clever. You only need to do 2/4 switches, drastically changing the rest of the level.

Also that castle was pretty cool in general, especially the option to skip some rooms.

Remember you can spin jump while holding objects. Like the propeller block.

Well that's a sour note to end the game on (minus the hilariously out of place [but catchy] Sonic Unleashed music). Hopefully the postgame advances the regular gameplay, instead of the endgameplay.

Seconding that recommendation. Not because they're easier or anything - I really have no idea - but because I wanna see what the Flesh Wall is.

To be honest, I only got into Touhou because of the characters rather than the gameplay. Granted, it's not too hard, but I can't imagine being able to dodge bullets every which way. I guess that's why I ended up cheesing those last levels.

Also, I'm glad raocow remembered to grab the star before talking to (and if you position Mario right, entering) the princess. I can imagine the sheer frustration that would ensue if that didn't happen.

Finally, those cregits sure looked pretty well-made, and the soundtrack wasn't too bad either. Now I'm wondering if they're going to cook up a sequel sometime. It'd be pretty interesting to see if they decide to use Luna hackery then.

Sorry, SAJ, but I don't agree with you on that. Aside from a few levels, the post game isn't a complete hairsplitter compared to the spade levels.

where is the bonus world even. Like if it where just up to me I'd think there was just the spades, and possible door number 8 in the star place.

edit: which is why I'm probably goign to be doign the spades first, sorry hori

I kinda wish that the background did not flicker so much, but otherwise that boss level was pretty good looking. I appreciate the use of the proper bullet graphics and the health bar at the top.
