the english patch at SMWC translates it as "Northern Resort" though

The から (from), which I left untranslated, sort of moves the tenor of the level name into an artistic mode (also seen somewhat with 大地) through the act of creating distance between the speaker and the location. That this is used in Hokkaido is also important because Hokkaido is a part of Japan that is often made out to be 'other' and 'wilderness' and has been since the early Meiji (which is where the Boys Be Ambitious quote comes from, incidentally). I couldn't think of any appropriate way to translate that sense of sort of... Soft, neo-colonial distancing rhetoric built into the deployment of から in this instance (whether it is a reference or not). So I translated 大地 as "vast" instead of simply "great" or "large," because vast also implies a sense of emptiness or unoccupied space, which is keeping very much in line with the historical rhetoric used in reference to Hokkaido. I sort of built the two terms into one rather than translating it simply as "From X" because that makes no sense in English (particularly since you're travelling *to* the place).

were probably the only levels I considered too difficult for me (though that other postgame level was probably more too long than too difficult)
