I've never played a tabletop RPG, but I always kind of wondered how they went. This seems pretty cool. Good luck with solving the case.

Honestly, I'd like to have something like roll20. Mostly because having some visual representation other than a still image would be nice.

Horikawa Otane wrote: World Information:
Basically, this is SUPER AU-Mario. There's all the places from Super Mario RPG, SMB3, SMW, Yoshi's Island, ASMT, ASMBXT, A2XT, etc.

It takes place shortly after SMB3 - when the Koopa Kingdom successfully invaded the Mushroom Kingdom and set up puppet governments in the various states, including a new central Koopa government, and then promptly lost them to Mario, being pushed back to their own territories. It is during the events of ASMT, so King Charles the Fourth has not yet been overthrown.

Here is a brief overview of the various countries:

The Mushroom Kingdom
  • Grass Land
Desert Hill (our heroes began their adventure here)
    Sea Side
    Big Island
    The Sky
    Iced Land
    Pipe Maze
    Former Castle of Koopa
The Koopa Kingdom (Broken into 7 fiefdoms controlled by local feuding lords who pay tribute to a central state and each have primacy over several areas of the infrastructure)
  • Iggy Koopa's Domain
    • Science and Engineering
      Industrial Design
    Larry Koopa's Domain
    • Magical Research
      Transportation Manufacturing
    Lemmy Koopa's Domain
    • Agriculture and Fishing
      Logging
    Ludwig von Koopa's Domain
    • Electricity and Power
      Textiles and Clothing
    Roy Koopa's Domain
    • Industrial Manufacturing
      Military
    Wendy O. Koopa's Domain
    • Luxury Items
      Intellectual Capital
    Morton Koopa Jr.'s Domain
    • Military
      Smelting
    The Glorious Capital
    • Military Intellectual Capital
      Bureaucracy and Governance
Dinosaur Land - The SMW Island, under struggle for dominance by various cultural and military influences
  • Little Yoshi's Island
    Donut Plains
    Vanilla Dome
    Twin Bridges
    Forest of Illusion
    Chocolate Island
    Valley of Bowser
The Star Realm (the Super Mario RPG Kingdom) - also under struggle for dominance by various cultural and military influences
  • Little Mushroom Kingdom
    Bowser's Dominion
    Booster Tower
    Seaside Town
    Tadpole Pond
    Rose Town
    Moleville
    Nimbus Land
    Barrel Volcano
    Land's End
    Star Hill
    Sunken Ship
ASMT Land - Under the Tyrannical Ideological Rule of King Charles the Fourth
  • ASMT Beach
    ASMT Forest
    ASMT Skies
    ASMT Plains
    ASMT Underground
    ASMT Tundra
    ASMT Desert
    King Charles the Fourth's Domain
The Castle of Absolutely no Significance Whatsoever
Yoshi's Island - Not broken up into states or districts, except vaguely by the minimalistic Yoshi government. A small part of the island is controlled by the Koopa Kingdom
  • Grassy Plains Territories
    Rocky Mountain Territories
    Jungle Territories
    Sunset Hills Territories
    Icy Mountain Territories
Bowser's Island Kingdom (now under the control of Bowser Jr.)
Other Planets
  • Easy Peasy: Planet of the Cheezy
    The Planet of Preventable Forests
    The Beach Episode Planet

Put a cop uniform on that and we have a Rezcow sprite to shove in some SMBX level!

inb4 Jumbo Rezcow replaces Kood in A2XT Ep2/3.
You heard the lady! Replace Kood with a floating Jumbo Rezcow for A2XT! A..... floating reznor...!

Edit: On another note, I'd like to see more ASMT/ASMBXT themed tabletop games... At least based from that world. I only know 3.5 and OWoD... Unless there would be some modifications I don't know if those could work.

There's a lot of willful ignorance on the characters's parts which is making this very entertaining.

Ep 3 is up!

In this episode, we fall forwards, except for one character.

This one was tough to edit.
That minute-and-a-half where I ask about first aid and Horikawa explains how health works? That was nearly fifteen minutes where we took a break and horikawa looked some stuff up and figured it out (it'd been a while since she'd used this system). I pieced together bits from all over that, because some early explanations were partially corrected but still partly right. There were bits I couldn't include because it overlapped with some silly off-topic chatter that would require more of the chatter included for context which would require more of the chatter for context, until I'd be leaving the entire 15 minutes in there.

Then there's the section near the end, where someone's talking to the DM in secret for a while. Luckily someone was typing loud enough to hear, so I could include a tiny bit of that to convey the general idea with brief pauses.

If anyone really wants to listen to all that, Horikawa will be posting the full 4+ hour long session once we've reached the end of it.

Cats-on-ice should have really spent those plot points to spawn a child imo.

This series is really wacky and really fun to listen to! Great to stick in the background and work to.

Yeah if people are actually enjoying listening the first few episodes that went up, it's only going to get better. This was a really fun session tonight.

Now that this isn't a secret project, we can drop torturously vague hype on you guys.

Sheesh I really need to catch up with this. The first few minutes of the first video were pretty entertaining, but eh... MAGL X 2 can't wait any longer.
