Garfield Labyrinth (1993)

Image

A puzzle platformer in the vein of the Wario Land series where you play as Garfield. Was marketed as a Ghostbusters / Mickey Mouse game in North America and Japan respectively, with slight graphic changes. Obviously the Garfield version is superior.

This but play a different regional version every single day and act like absolutely nothing has changed

this is, without exaggeration, the best idea in this entire thread

I don't suppose anybody's mentioned "Sonic Boll" yet? It's along the same lines as "Super Mario Crossover", where you play as a variety of characters and try to complete SMB1 with them. The differences are that most of the characters here are already platformer-focused for the most part, it's actually a downloadable game instead of flash, it includes a level editor that you can use to make full game-sized level packs, it has a 3D Special Stage that plays like Super Monkey Ball (Which can also have levels built for it in said level editor), and it has a couple of hidden characters that you can unlock. There's also a variety of skins for each character, so if raocow wanted to play around with videos a bit and make each video a different character skin or just flat-out play as a different character for each video, he can do that. The game even lets you pick what level you start at, so doing something like that would be incredibly easy.

They're also starting a level design contest right now where the winner can choose a new Easter Egg or Skin for the game. (I'm not sure if they mean character skin or level/world skin) The level editor is really easy to use, and there's a tutorial on how to use it on GameBanana. Considering how popular things like MaGL and all of the Demo games are around here, I figure it would be pretty fun to do their contest, and we could even bundle up all of our entries together into a level pack for raocow.

Oh yeah, game link is here.

I don't think raocow should really play any of the Star Revenge hacks, to be honest. While the newer ones are incredibly polished, they are still meant for experienced players. I doubt he'd have much fun with them.

That's what I was thinking after experiencing SR'e difficulty curve after the original SR6, but I'm gonna put my overconfidence here that raocow would complete one of the Star Revenges one day if he's ever gonna play it.

sixcorby - longtime hacker & led the ending development of jumphalf, put out a short 9 level hack full of humor and charm called slurdgery. it's a bit tricky, but its got some fuckin good level design (pure JUMP quality). would be a fun few-video lp as a break inbetween other things sometime.

cute & fun platformer/RPG hybrid type game, i feel like the aesthetic & humor would gel with raocow well & it's pretty fin aside from that

Started. It's just a single dungeon demo so don't expect it to be ready for a few years.

I would like to take the time to recommend three very good, short SMW romhacks:

Nachos and Fried Oreos by gbreeze and MiracleWater, 15 exits

slurdgery by Sixcorby, 9 exits

So 2 Mice Walk into a Bar... by idol and S.N.N., 18 exits

All of these are very much worth your time and could potentially make for nice SMW "intermissions" between larger, non-SMW projects.
