request grab-bag

To sum up the 15 minute video I'm going to be uploading at this instant: original plan fell through, so in a state of panic I'm letting y'all fight over what would be good ideas.

Remember that I'm looking for original stuff - suggesting a super lp'd game like cave story will probably be met with a resounding sigh.

EDIT

This is now the all purpose 'request archive' thread, so that I may come and have a look whenever I'm looking for new ideas. Hopefully, by having all the requests centralised into one place, there is going to be less endless repeatings, haha!

So go ahead and include hacks and whatnot, now that the genesis of the thread has changed.

Don't be afraid to argument your ideas with photos or videos.

----

So slight change of rule, feel free to suggest mario romhacks, wether new stuff or old stuff that I'd replay with better quality.

Please don't say your own hack because otherwise we'll be forced to make fun of you (unless you got a trailer or something going on - in which case I'll let the audience judge)
Argumentable wrote: Hey, guys. It's nice that you want to suggest a game and everything, but there are a few that get repeated postings that raocow has said before that he will not play. Here's a handy list for all of you guys out there so I have an excuse to yell at you when you post them

DO NOT SUGGEST
-Minecraft
-Cave Story
-RPGs
-YOUR romhack/game (Unless it's really really amazing and you have people who aren't your friends or yourself that agree)
PSA: Commercial games are now fine to be recommended.
raocow wrote:However I will definitely not play AAA super delux bran new hardcore games, whatever the hell this sentence means.

What was your plan, btw?

My suggestion would be Knytt Stories, just because of the sheer amount of good quality levels.

It's kinda overplayed as well.

Iron Fin beat me to it, so I'll second his suggestion of Tower of Heaven. That game is pretty sweet, Game Boy-ish graphics, solid difficulty.

How about Cave Story (http://cavestory.org/) or La Mulana (http://lamulana.super-turbo.net/wiki/in ... =Main_Page)? Both are really neat, classic styled indie exploration games.

I think this should rather be part of "The return of the revange of the random week", as there isn´t really much to LP and it would fit into like 30 Minutes. But It´s still worth checking out.

P.S. Hello to the thread

It would be cool if you do a random week because it's august '10 and I think you did one august '09.

I'm not really sure how I could make an lp about a fighting game that I'm still learning would be very interesting. (I'm still trying to understand the whole 'deck' system they got going on)

Seeing newgrounds made me remember Time Fcuk. Is that overlp'd? It's a neato creepy puzzle game, but thinking about it I'd completely ruin the atmosphere so forget that.

Yeah I pretty much stopped watching after 4 minutes when you said your just gonna play forth rest of the time.

You should actually do Within A Deep Forest. It's a fun exploration game by the same people who made Knytt.

The problem with Tower of Heaven, though, is that
It's twenty minutes long.

Hey folks~

Uhm first of all read something about a fighting game.. not really what I think would make a good LP.
Because the most stuff you learn in a fighting game is muscle reflex and raw ideas of the stuff going on. It's also very repetitive (if I spelled it correctly) and I think a good LP consists (as well) out of reactions to new things that come up. And you don't have much of these in a fighting game I would say.
But just my opnion!

Aaaand I have a few ideas for a game aswell!
First of all, Meat Boy, the flash game, if that works well then there is still a map pack to go through:
(Meat Boy) http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/463241
(Meat Boy more levels aka Map Pack) http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/472826

A short game that is VERY indy I would say, and also very abstract, I could see raocow loving it, would be Time Fcuk:
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/511754
Sort of a puzzle/jump'n'run game, but it's freaky and I love it, go check it out, the first two or three levels are to get an idea of the controls anyhow!

Hmm I though I had more ideas but I guess other Indie games I had in my head have to be bought.. like BIT.TRIP RUNNER, World of Goo, Braid and Limbo.
But oh well, hope you find them interesting raocow!
Might aswell save the one or another for the next random week~!

Greets~

---edit---
I just saw that you mentioned Time Fcuk!
Well yes, it is creepy and it would be less creepy if you made an LP about it.
But the LP itself would be fun to watch because the game is great as it is and if you post a link to the game people can play it aswell, on their own, and experience the other side of Time Fcuk, the creepy side.
So I would say; DO IT! Please.

This is kind of true, but considering we need something to hold us over, it might work. Could be a possible addition in random week as well, if that happens.

Hmm, the crazy way my computer is set up, I think I can't save any files from newgrounds game, I think.

That complicates things.

(Oh man, joining a forum isn't my thing, but i just wanted to request this one game, don't kill me.)

I was thinking about Super Marisa Land, it's basically Super Mario Bros, only with Marisa and Alice.
http://www.mediafire.com/?l5dzhjy5ghz
And there are not really that many LPs of it as Youtube might imply (Like, 40 to 60% of the results Youtube gives are Super Marisa World, which is an entirely different game).

PS: A video to get a better idea of what the game is:

hey guy, I signed up literally just to ask- you haven't just tried force-windowing Obake with d3d windower have you?

unless there's some weird incompatibility with it and your recording software I'd think it would work.
