That's like saying that Banjo-Kazooie is the sequel to Mario 64. This game has levelling up, combined EXP and money, losing it upon death, Castlevania-like subweapons, and it appears you have to choose your items to take into levels instead of just being able to pull up your inventory, not to mention a completely different story style and mood. The blurb even outright says "Symphony of the Night". It just feels a little dismissive of all the changes they made and new things that they thought up to me to call it "Zelda". There may be quite the amount of obvious references, but I think just as many are genre conventions - scènes à faire. I think it speaks more to the relative paucity of games in the top-down action-adventure genre (or at least famous examples) compared to, say, platformers, not because this game in particular is really Zelda-y.

Judging from the video, it looks like both games will be getting a remaster. For those who have never played the games before or just want to replay something with better graphics, this may be the way to go.
