As for planned SM64 hacks, I don't believe so.

I would like to see a SMB2 hack, but last time I asked this, I was told the hacking scene there was pretty non-existant. Which is too bad.
People had suggested certain SMB1 hacks way back, but in my opinion it would be weird if rao played 3 and 1, without 2 as a bridge between.

Oh but I'm guessing that he'll go for the iconic SM64 hacks first like SM74, Green Stars, and Star Revenge Redone.

Yeah, the SMB2USA hacking scene is not that existent unfortunately. As for SMB1 hacks, I recommend him to try out Super Mario Unlimited. That hack is as clean as daylight and has custom music in there.

I mean, there have been things posted both here and in the patapon spotzone, that has made raocow go "ooh, this looks neat, I might want to play this", that i've been trying to keep track of for the next patapon poll in 2 years or whenever.

i don't think it's necessary to play an smb2 hack at least before smb1, especially with how incredibly different the two games are? it'd be nice eventually, but with how underdeveloped that scene is i don't see why wait for it

Nice, I've been waiting for this to announce a release date so I could post it here again. (I definitely learned about it from this thread.)

It feels uncannily like the game you would make if you were trying to specifically target raocow. Black and white silhouette graphics? Metroidvania platformer? Cat in a robot shooting stuff? Megaman-looking bosses? Holy shit!

I'm not a fan of the editing in that new trailer, though... the cuts are too rapid and hectic to get a feel for what appealed to me in the first one:

CrossCode comes out on Sept 20th. It's been in early access for a while and the reviews have been fantastic.

I second this (rather old) recommendation. The game is great fun and managed to beat Iconoclasts and Celeste for my favourite of last year through its gameplay, story and lovable characters. It's a rather linear story-driven Zelda game disguised as an MMORPG and the environments and dungeons are pretty fantastic.
For the purposes of an eventual LP it's worth noting that there's a weird diffiuclty spike in the early game, but after that it's pretty much smooth sailing even if you ignore all optional quests (of which there are many).
The game had an update 2 weeks ago with some quality of life fixes and some new lategame content. There's also an update planned for further in the future which is postgame DLC, but that's still only in early development, as the devs explained in a recent blog post, and could be covered in an addendum if the rest of the game was fun to play ;p

Oh man! New Psychonauts is looking to be everything I hoped it would be, but oh gods that Battletoads game. As ridiculously unfair as the old games were, they *looked* way better than this. I think they tried too hard to stylize it or something.

Man, I can't bring myself to watch that Commander Keen trailer.

CK4 was my iconic childhood game. I still replay it occasionally for a hit of nostalgia.

A phone Commander Keen game in 2019 does not inspire optimism in my heart. It inspires dread.
