I'm too lazy to open up Lunar Magic and check, but I'm pretty sure it's because the timer is technically 000, and whenever the ones and tens digit match when breaking the goal tape, the player receives a 1-up.

In SMW when level time end in 00 (00, 100, 200, etc.) you get a life. The town level have 000 time.

It's looking good so far, but what's with the square level tiles?

And also... Granny Smith? They're good and all, but there are such a large variety of apples. I'm personally a big fan of Egremont Russet.
