What's with the lower video quality today? It looked like it was 360p or maybe even a bit lower even in 480p.

Well, today went pretty well. I really liked how the second level's secret exit looked. Those black keys were neat.

Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

The first level had a really fun idea and nice graphics. Most of the level design was good too. The perspective was amusing. Watching the second level after it felt difficult mostly due to the slowdown gimmick.

I don't know why raocow hesistated so much with the spam of Goombas and one hopping flame.

Also, did he take out two Para-Goopas with one fireball?

As for the beginning of the second level, no raocow, you didn't touch the mushroom, you missed it by a mile.

Heatstroke was one of the first ASM things I did for A2MT. It's actually based on the highest screen number that you've hit thus far, rather than total distance (displacement over distance I guess).

e: also this level doesn't have any chest data

The first level reminded me a lot of cheap cash-in SNES platformers. These often go complete form over function, make the levels weird isometric affairs to fit the locales of whatever movie or show they are supposed to represent, and often have no way to tell what is a platform and what isn't (a death sentence).

However, the level here looked actually pretty fun despite the visual reminder of bad days past, so good job!

I rather liked the first level today, despite the enemy spam near the end. The tileset was nice, it had some nice Seiken Densetsu 3 music, and it overall had this cute and charming feel to it, especially with Fluffy Big Squee at the end. Eeeee. :3

The second stage... yeah, yay for gimmicks that mess with your controls. Always a fun time to be had there. Was there anything unique in the chest, or was it another Nothing?

Does anyone know what the tileset used in the first level was? I recognize it from using it in RPG Maker a lot back in the day, but I don't know what its original source was. I wanna say a Sailor Moon game, but I don't know for sure.

It's less the control*s*, and more the *control*. Being unable to run, and moving progressively slower over time, dramatically hinders the player. I dunno, it's just not a mechanic I think looked all that fun.

It could be really fun if the level was designed more with that in mind. I only saw a bit of use out of the gimmick there, only a little bit to remove the 'tacked-on' feeling ASM can give.

Imagine a level where the gaps get smaller near to the end of the level, but your speed is slower to compensate. Where everything is tailored after the specific speed the player can run at, at that point in the level.

I think that'd be cool.

The cheese with large non circular holes looks more like wax. It was probably that way thanks to the heat. The joke was pretty easy to understand and the custom graphics were fun. I wonder if the player was supposed to have a cape or something for the secret exit.
