As... "quirky" as this hack is, I gotta say. I like the idea of having a Birdo/Mouser tag team. Not necessarily as the Level 2 boss, but it's still really neat.

In this case it does make sense though. The HP system doesn't work well with tier 2 powerups. I'm sure they could fix it so tier 2 powerups restore health or place more blocks that only ever give a mushroom but the easiest solution to the HP system's issues is to simply not use tier 2 powerups. (Really that's a fairly big issue with the HP system, tier 2 powerups not restoring HP makes the system nearly useless.)

I really enjoyed what I played of Kid Adventure 1, which was up to like the fire stage cause i was using snes9x and it did the sound crash and i didnt know that it was snes9x's fault at the time. But this is just "huh". Like, it is good, but most of that goodness isn't the game's, so...

Believe me, I'm aware. I'm just tired of seeing custom elements lazily implemented into these hacks. It's understandable if no solution can be found to a problem that persists from the underlying Super Mario World engine, but when an author makes a conscious decision to include a custom system that encompasses the entire game, there's much less room for an excuse. :(
