Sorry I've been being a jerk about the difficulty of your levels recently, had no idea you've been having it that rough these past few weeks. Right now your levels are like my favourite to watch being played and least favourite to actually play, if you follow. That said, you play like a goddamn demon! It's no wonder you make levels other people call crazy-hard when you can move through them like that. Looks like Froze, raocow, myself and probably others were all blind to the safespot in the center of the disco/frog/switch section. Had the frog been one block higher up it would've been as unsafe as I thought, but with knowledge of that spot it suddenly makes a lot more sense. Hope you can get some restful sleep soon, I suffer from fucked-up sleep myself and I know how much it sucks.
S.N.N. wrote:I don't agree with the comments about the "love frogs" being fake in terms of difficulty. I think if they are placed in a strategic manner and not littered about then they can actually be a legit challenge .. and I believe Jolp was pretty fair with his placement of them.
Pretty much this re: lava lotus/lovefrogs. They're easy to abuse, but not fundamentally unfair in and of themselves. I thought Jolpe had been cruel with his placement of that last one, but as he demonstrated it's fundamentally doable provided you get over the fear of being directly above them. Maybe the level could've used a "buried" frog earlier on to demonstrate the fact that the space directly above them is always safe when they're three tiles down, because as it is, players are focused on riding the disco under their feet and watching the disco and switch above them, and aren't exactly primed to break their assumptions about the pattern of lava lotus projectiles.

This was one of the few levels I could never beat during the testing phase. I could get as far as the red and blue switch puzzle. Twas too difficult for me.

Wasn't that because you never realized/knew you could spinjump while holding an item?

This level seems kind of insane really, but like a lot of fun for people who look for a challenge! The only complain I would have is that, at least for me, it felt like the disco shell part was to long. Not much else to say here!

I have to apologize here..
I was in such a bad mood because of sleeping problems and other stuff, that I sometimes just can't hold my rage...
That's just how I am...
I am looking forward to the next levels and also the next videogame raoman plays to be completely honest xD
Oh well

Man, if the video helped vent some of that rage, even if it probably made you madder in the process (7 bloody takes??), it was probably worth it. Also kind of surreal as you were basically the anti-raocow for a moment there - incredibly pissed off from the start and completing the stage with shocking grace and ease.

Re: next project
Next raogame is that scary touhou-megaman game, Takkoman, isn't it? I'm still hoping he'll B-side the MAGL2 with it. Or it could be filler, who knows but the man with a catllama for a face

The level could have eased the player into the party shell bouncing a bit better, a section designed to help them get used to how the shell works and such before making them jump 3-tile-wide spike blocks. The level's presentation was also a bit lacking, a background which isn't solid black could help it quite a bit. That aside, the level was fairly well done in terms of difficulty and level design, so good work Jolpe.

You know, having watched raocow flounder around in this engine for the last six months, it's a pleasure to see someone playing competently and with confidence. I particularly liked how you were able to execute a "spin jump" without describing at great length the intricate radiocarpal manouevre that accompanied it.

I found some constants that one can use to change gravity and there's probably others I haven't found, but that's about it unless someone wants to go really crazy with changing demo's vectors on a per-frame basis.

Seems like that might be interesting. I mean, I know ASM can do that in SMW hacks, but it would be nice if it were possible here as well.
On another note, I downloaded the OST and realized that all of the songs were a disorganized mess (besides all being tagged properly). That's not meant to be insulting, SAJewers, so sorry if it sounds that way. ^^;
Anyways, I'm sorting through them and putting them in rough level order, in case anyone cares. I'll upload the sorted OST (minus the SMBX base songs) when I'm done.

EDIT: And we're good! Here's the link!
SECOND EDIT: Uh... I just realized I made a major numbering error. I'm going to try to fix that, but I'm not going to fix the download until tomorrow, because it's getting late and I really don't want to spend too much time fixing my mistake right now.
THIRD EDIT: Actually, never mind, I did fix it. The link's the same. I'm going to stop editing this post now, because seriously, this is kind of getting old. >.>

I'm kinda sad the LPs over now, oh well. Thanks for the LP raocow, and thanks to the talkhaus for the opportunity, I learned a lot about the engine and got some confidence in doing pixel-based art. (As janky as my Tewi was in places :P)

Looking forward to working on a better level for ASMBXT2. ^^

No good intro for my post, except that raocow posted two videos for the finale.

"(The Potato Farm of) Overbearing Temperatures" is in short a precision platforming, short-but-hard level.
Seeing that blind spin jump at the end was really kicker for players, but beforehand you didn't really know it was ending that fast, so I it's more acceptable, but still a sucker punch for some people.

From the same author, "Flight Simulator"... all I gotta say is that it's perfect for postgame, and is really fitting for the finale.

I wasn't really expecting an actual level with a challenge within "Talkhaus Adobe": thought it would be a walk in the park. I would have been ironic if you're were on your last life if you didn't expect the first part. Lots of puzzle and challenges with "gravity-defying charlie boulders": how was that made?
Seeing all the avatars within the game and recognizing most of them was my real dessert in this LP: hearing what everyone has to say made a smile on my face. :)

Oh man... I was in tears at the end, since the entire LP was ending and I didn't participate in this project, but there will be a sequel so I'm not truly sadden by this matter.
I really enjoy this LP of ASMBXT: sure, there were a few rough spots, but we made through them and pressed on, and many levels within the collaborations were really enjoyable to see. I hope for the best for raocow's next LP.

Thank you raocow for posting now one of my favorite Let's Play, and I wish you have a great time in the future LPs and into both A2MT and A2BMXT.
Will you LP AZCT when it's finished?

I didn't expect raocow to do an hour special to end it all. Also, In case you missed it I did commentary on Fluffy Quest.

The avatar level is quite annoying.

The level of creativity displayed throughout this game was immensely fun for me as a spectator. I don't want to judge too much since I haven't played anything but this game really seemed great. raocow's LP was as usual (except for those few levels in the postgame...), extremely entertaining. Just a bit of a shame that some playtesting lacked at parts.

I'd like to tip my hat to everyone who participated in this! This game *is* something to be proud of.

I agree with raocow that this is a really awesome game, and I don't have much bias to go off of. Both of today's videos ended up being more emotional than I had expected, though, haha. It's been only a couple of months, but it's going to be weird when I watch LPs with breakfast and not see "asmbxt: ptts" in any of the titles. I suppose I'll have to find a new cereal to go along with this change.

What's the song in Talkhaus Adobe? At first I thought it was something from VVVVVV. Judging from raocow's reaction I think it might be some remix of Levan Polka but I'm not very familiar with that song.

Yeah, it's a remix of Ievan Polka i.e. the leek song.

Wuaaah! That lava level was amazing. At first I thought, this is way to unforgiving even for endgame, but then I saw how short the level actually is and was like. Yep, is good!

I have the feeling that flying narrow corridors in the smbx engine is actually easier than in SMW. We all know how much fun turning around midflight is in SMW!

The post post credits rooms where awesome guys!

Even if some of you where trashed into oblivion and back for your levels, I really do believe everyone did his absolute very best!

Makes me kinda wish to have been part of this, but in the end, I just did not have time!

I'm so far behind in this, but I have to say, I enjoyed the ending. You really do know how to play these games when it asks a great deal out of you. I'm hoping the whole second half of the game (minus the two levels I've heard were trainwrecks) was fun as a whole.

It's by Shirobon, but all I can seem to find for it that doesn't feel like one of those shady download sites is a Youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_a_XHaHPhY

edit: more convenient actual download link from that album http://cl.ly/1l1s372g383x
