A question about ASMT (and romhacks in general)
Hey guys. I'm new here, but I've been watching raocow's videos for a few months now. So, sorry if this isn't the right forum to post this in. But, I have a question. I downloaded ASMT off of SMWCentral a couple minutes ago and I can't seem to get it to work on my ZSNES. It won't show up in the rom list and it shows up as a .ips and a .srm file, instead of .smc like my other roms. Any help would be very much appreciated.

The .ips is merely a patch rather than the game itself. You'll have to download a clean Super Mario World ROM first (don't ask where to get one, though!), then use the program Lunar IPS (just google it) to apply the patch to the ROM.

Oh, okay. I have Lunar IPS and a legit copy of SMW. Well, as legit as it can be. Thank you, good sir.

Something isn't right. I have a working copy of the SMW rom. But, after I patch it with Lunar IPS, it won't work anymore. Is this a common problem at all? I'm starting to get frustrated. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can make it work?

Thank you very much, good sir. My rom file came up with three chcksum errors. So, my goal now is just to find a different rom from a more reputable source? Alrighty. Well, I know better than to ask for a rom on a public forum. Thanks again, Mr. Yoshicookiezeus. My search continues.yoshicookiezeus wrote:Clean ROM Verifier
If your ROM isn't clean, it won't work after you apply a patch to it.

To help you out, a verified clean ROM should have a filename that ends in (U) [!].

Re: A question about ASMT (and romhacks in general)
Just to clarify if people don't already know, the letter in normal brackets denotes region, it's the exclamation mark in square brackets that means clean, so (U) [!] means a clean North American rom (like mother used to make), with E and J for Europe/PAL and Japan.
Pixie casts Dekunda. Insufficient MP!
Re: A question about ASMT (and romhacks in general)
as a technicality, things like U and J denote ntsc (region) compatibility used for home consoles and [!] means verified good dump
