The weirdest part of the owls in today's vid is that they're still described as penguins in the database and level editor, just like the actual spherical penguins that are (presumably) their descendants.

Then again, "Penguin Control" doesn't quite have the same ring to it...

And the ice world is gone as soon as it arrived!

Which is fine by me, I often find ice worlds boring. Though I do love Boki's skating around on the ice like she's right at home in it.

(Hang on a second, is there ice on Aisnoda? Where did Boki learn to skate and do spin-jumps and stuff?)

I do love how most of the Constructs in the ancient ruins are older versions of modern constructs.

Oh hey, that's the thing I made! I was wondering if I should post it here, but I guess that's been taken care of now haha
I wanted to draw something like this when I saw raocow fight the giant penguin a few videos ago.

I'm still mesmerized by the particle effects in this game.

Hey, you're here! You should join the discord room, I posted the penguin art there and there was a solid 2 pages of everyone saying it's great!

And yeah, the ice world is super short since I wanted to mess with ice physics and super pretty backgrounds, but I know that altering the controls really annoys some people. It was fun to make a world with two distinct halves like this!

One of my favorite tiny details that nobody notices - check the map in the intro of Frozen Fiend (or on the level select screen before you beat it), and it shows the world continuing to the right, so people wouldn't get suspicious. After you beat the boss, it gets updated to show the levels going downwards.

Also,

the boss

of 11.5 is maybe the best in Normal Mode.
I share this opinion.

Listening to raocow's comment today on how he thinks Yoggval is "helping" Boki get to the center of the Temple of Power made me wonder something: The Constructs are magical constructions made by the Cybers, which makes them mostly "evil"... but are there "good" Constructs out there as well? Presumably they'd be made by friendly Entanmas if so. Also, Arikan comes to mind as, if not outright "good", at least a relatively neutral figure.

"You are SO beautiful though..."
Thus begins the tragic love story of a man and a shape shifting face robot.

Upon hearing raocow call the moon virs "super snake" the name of the weapon shadow of Apophis makes even more sense. I've noticed in pop-culture the Egyptian chaos snake god dude is usually called by the Greek name Apophis instead of the Egyptian Apep, sometimes even when the rest of the god squad is called by their Egyptian names. I chalk this up to Apophis sounding menacing, whereas Apep is something you'd name your cat.

You are right about that. In the expanded lore form blog posts and web comics, there are friendly constructs. One semi-reoccurring character is a treasure hunter who owns one. Friendly constructs are implied to be few and far in between; for Joe on street there are more cost effective options if you want a robot assistant and/or autonomous weapon.

Those shield guys in the 2nd level are actually quite easy to defeat since they pretty much instantly die if you drop a cube on them.

Also, if you had trouble understanding the third level, good luck in world 12.

EDIT: How long does everyone think it'll take him to figure out the next level?

The first time I finished today's boss, I was literally left mouth agape, staring at the screen in shock at everything I'd just seen.

I can't remember the last time a game achieved that with me.

Well done. So very well done.

It's remarkable how a game whose entire concept revolves around copying your enemies still manages to surprise you with what you can do. The whole resurrection phase was amazing, but cursing the dark-phoenix hunter and watching it helplessly sprinkle snakes everywhere really put this fight over the top.

So there is probably an achievement if you can beat the last phase without dying. How does that effect the finishing blow, though?

There's no achievement for it. If you do well enough at the battle as a whole, then Boki copies the final powerup after a few dark-phase attacks instead of needing to resurrect for it, and the rest of the battle continues as normal. It's honestly not as cool as the normal way though. (I did this just so speedruns wouldn't need to intentionally take tons of hits and look really bad, that bugged the heck out of me in Megaman X and other stuff with forced deaths)

Even long-standing series revolving around copying your opponents' abilities like Mega Man and Kirby don't go particularly far with it. Not counting this game, the farthest I've seen a game go with the concept is ZX Advent, and even then it still tends to withhold the more awesome moves from you.

Last world was Puzzle World, this world is just straight up EXPLOSIONS EVERYWHERE.

Also, Rainbow Text Man always good for laughing at how angry he is.

If there is one thing I would change about this game, it would be to rename Frag Missile to Frog Missile whenever your explode component comes from a frog-a-loo.

That was actually a really interesting solution for the first turret? You're supposed to just stand on the starting platform and either shoot diagonally or use jump shots, but you found a different way that's also completely reliable. I've never seen it before and it's a clever way to get around their AI!

Good luck on the finale!

It's actually kinda hilarious (and a little aggravating) watching him come up with these strategies that end up making things a ton harder for himself

Don't have much to say that others haven't, but I'm definitely going to be buying this game for myself. It's great and so has watching raocow LP it.

It wasn't until this final Final episode at the achievement unlock that I realized that the title is a pun on Copy Cat. After all these years.

God that final boss was amazing. I'm really looking forward to more Copy Kitty in the future! Especially since people really seem to live the other modes as well.

it was halfway through the fight when i had the wonderful epiphany of "ohhhhoho we're gonna copy that laser aren't we"

I love this game. I need to buy it, and also recommend it to literally all of my friends.
