The best part about practicing superheroics in a simulation is that the municipal government doesn't get on your case for reducing a city block to a crater upon reentry.

The city environments in the game really stand out to me. I think its because the buildings seem friendlier then the natural environments, and enemy bases that male up most of the game.

This sounds terrible, but I want raocow to die against the hardmode version of this boss so he can see the boss's sick burns.

In case anyone was confused by what happened in the video, the "Mega Men" do drop weapons, just not if the satellite laser destroys them. Plasma goes right through their shields, so if you still have plenty of that going into the second phase, then you can take care of them pretty fast.

Also, the boss always uses the same attacks in the same order (except for the satellite laser, which is HP-based). If you remember that, you're less likely to get caught by surprise.

And raocow's not alone in having trouble with 10-1. It took me quite a few tries too.

It might not have triggered because raocow probably got it in the previous LP, but the achievement you get for using Summon Dragon is magical.

Well now we have undeniable proof of the Cybers being pure evil.

Not only do they kidnap and cyber-fy people, they make noise in people's apartments! :x

Traffic cones in this city are deadly spikes, they really want you following the rules of the road.

Nice work on the stealth mission - you've done it before when it had a different name, which probably helped.

There's an achievement for completing the skyscraper level without destroying any key enemies. It's not very hard, I forget what exactly you unlock for doing it though.

Also, the Penguin Lord actually can hurt you! But not when you're constantly shooting him away like that. And I remember a previous version of that level where you laughed for about thirty seconds straight.

Warzone is a lot easier if you actually make use of Supernova. I used it to one-shot the Virs for a safe finish, but I'm pretty sure it would also take out the Magna Exchikke.

I find it really weird he isn't going for that screen nuke. Especially from someone who likes destroying the world.

It seems to me like raocow would rather go melee with no weapons than pick up a non-standard one

I think he got conditioned back in the Turbo days to see Solo weapons as a problem that prevents triple combos, rather than the awesome tools they are. Also, because he doesn't use real-time change and instead uses the menu to switch weapons, he avoids picking them up in the first place to avoid using the menu because the man is apparently allergic to them

Before tonight's video (because i'm presuming he's gonna do more than just the boss), i just want to say that from a design perspective, I absolutely love worlds 11 and 12. I find the levels really force you to think and be aware at all times. I low-key kinda wish more of the game was like worlds 11 and 12.

Naturally, I suspect raocow to struggle heavily :P

I agree that the gold stars can kill the more hype moments a little bit, but they're obviously something you're meant to go back to finish later when you've mastered the game, so it's forgivable from my point of view (when I played it on my last run, I just beat the game normally, and then did a gold star run later on.)

Yeah. Honestly, you should've done the stars as a 2nd loop or world-by-world cleanup, rather than attempt them immediately after you finish the level.

Mr. the Cow, it is indeed possible to dodge the Dengrahx's giant laser beam while in the Fortress. I think it's actually necessary for the fight in Hard Mode.

When you charge up the Earthquaker move, Fortress Virs crouches down. If you do this when the Dengrahx activates its laser, it won't hit.

(EDIT) Oh, he did see the prompt. Guess the above spoiler isn't a spoiler then.

I'm a little sad that Boki's line "So... um... did that really just happen?" got taken out of the ending cutscene in this version, because I think it was amazingly appropriate for that fight.

Brand-new content coming tomorrow, guys! :D

So for anyone else trying to gold-star this level, here's the trick to handling the first wave of enemies:

Just run far back and shoot. The enemy shots despawn if you get far enough away, and Fortress Virs' attacks don't get in the way either. From the winning run, it looks like raocow had caught onto the idea of "keep your distance", but he hadn't taken it all the way like I did.

Against the core, one of raocow's main problems was always trying to dodge the double-laser. It's easier to just make use of the safe spot for that attack, although in fairness it's pretty hard to judge exactly where that's going to be.

anyone who knows about the dodge *always* tries rolling through them and making it harder on themselves, I've not seen a single person not do it

weird how that works

Well, the first time you see it that makes sense, it's not clear that there's going to be a safe spot. That's what happened to me.

But I learned my lesson after getting burned when they switched direction.

The 2nd level is definitely a lot easier if rely on kicking ice for the ground enemies, and use the flame pickups to deal damage to the flying enemies.

I found from here on out (and really for quite a bit of the game) that you want to keep any solo weapons you're given, so maybe keep that in mind.

If you wanna stop going for the damage targets, you can! It's pretty noticeable that you have way more fun in the initial runs and then you're kinda just doing the stars because of sunk cost. It's up to you, and there's plenty of content either way (4 story modes, boss rush, endless, etc) so there's no need to stretch the videos if that's what it's for. Either way, the game's getting harder now, so good luck!

I appreciate your enthusiastic belief that you can deter raocow from pursuing optional goals like an excitable dog pursues a ball

Today: ice physics... but not how you expected them!

How does that work though, does Boki have tiny blades on the bottom of her foot-crystals?

Most games make ice physics primarily as a an obstacle, secondarily as a level gimmick. But here it's primarily a level gimmick.
Reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy.

Yeah, I figured that raocow would have trouble here. There's quite a bit more of a puzzle aspect in 11.5 (and arguably world 12, but in a different way).

Also,

the boss

of 11.5 is maybe the best in Normal Mode.
