Well, that got me to look at the OP and wow, I forgot how glorious the titles for the original playthrough were.

raocow: If you want to know what a weapon does, press the weapon switch button.

Also, you definitely want to switch weapons around and pick up other weapons from time to time, don't just keep the weapons you happen to have until they run out or you'll make things harder on yourself later on.

raocow's reaction to Magna-Crush was everything I hoped it would be.

I can't recall the last time i've heard raocow scream like that.

Given he's going for low-damage stars, I think he'll naturally pick up this habit as he works out the "route" for each level.

Magna-Crush is a delightful, delightful thing. But... oh gods, I have to bite my tongue. There's so much I'm looking forward to.

This game never ceases to amaze.

Seriously though, the improvements from Turbo are fascinating and give the game a structure it sorely needed.

A nice little quality-of-life feature that I noticed while playing last night: On repeat plays of a level, the game will actually tell you if you've taken too much damage to earn the level's star. A small "no star" symbol (star with a red X through it) will appear in the upper-left corner of Boki's health meter when too much damage is taken. You can see this happen in raocow's latest video at 3:00.

okay, NOW the game should start looking pretty significantly different

I've found that, even if you don't want to lug around an enemy summoning power-up, it's better to just use it all up as soon as you get it instead of just dropping it, since the enemies stick around for a long time and tend to just wander all over the map taking out other enemies for you.

Watching raocow's, enthusiasm, when he get's a good weapon combo, I wonder how he would react to holding a firing a real gun.

Imagine the same maniacal laughter we got yesterday, but rao is firing a sub machine gun at a firing range.


Real question to raocow: Did your dad ever take you out to a firing range?

No proposing shady online transactions.

I knew someone might interpret that post as if I was a shady guy in an alley, with a trenchcoat of weapons.

The most I'm interested in real guns are paintball and airsoft, and those still hurt. As for laser tag, I'm still waiting for when they make them with visible (harmless) beams.

I've played through up until midway through part 9. And wow, does this game just keep on finding more and more new ways to impress and surprise. Even for someone familiar with pre-Steam iterations. Super glad I picked this up.

I'm rather curious as to what is to scream about. Was rao super close to an awesome weapon combo?

I noticed yesterday that Whip can grab and collect dropped pickups.

mainly his playstyle and use of weapons, and seeming refusal to swap weapons (or even look at that menu to see what some weapons do) around unless he runs out of something.
