It's probably just the weird way in which I caused the level to end.kilon wrote:Wait, there is a castle destruction scene for world 5? Why didn't it appear? Is it a one time error? A in, world 6 will have one again, or is it just not there from world 5 onward? Because then we really have to give raocow version 1.1 as fast as possible.
Anyway, I could post it here but I'm not 100% sure if it's the last version of it.
And yeah, the boss overshadows the 3 levels, but admittedly they where pretty filler anyway. As for that boss, 1 word: WOW!
ASMT: Hey there raocow, here be everybody.

Haha, finally. This is what I have been expecting out of this hack for the past five worlds. Way to finally live up to the hype. Insert a generic "well done" message directed towards Kil here.
Also, both of the levels were pretty thumbs up too.

Rumia was just "wow" seriously, awesome work!
Re: ASMT: Hey there raocow, here be everybody.
The castle destruction text was supposed to be:
Still, another thing to look into for the public release.
I add my congrats to Kil for the megawesome boss.
As you can see, it's of great loss to the plot. =PStill no device, but perhaps that will motivate the charlies to finally wash their athletic equipment, or at least deodorize it with aerosol spray, or odor-eating foot powder.

Re: ASMT: Hey there raocow, here be everybody.
Actually I always found the mention of the jock strap icky. I'm kinda glad I accidentally screwed the message up. Don't feel bad though. Just remember that you wrote the first castle message, which is the best thing I've ever read in any mario hack.

Wow... Just wow. I know that must have started to sound redundant a while ago, Kil, but seriously, that was just incredible, especially for your your first custom boss (considering I remember chdata's fun fact correctly.) That is just amazing... I don't really have any better way of describing it, even though it probably deserves one, considering I have absolutely no scope as to the difficulty of creating custom bosses.
And on a side note: Night of the Living Charlie was one of the few levels that I remember seeing from way back when. Even though it got overshadowed, it still deserves recognition for its concept. I really cracked up when I saw it the first time.

Re: ASMT: Hey there raocow, here be everybody.
Night of the Living Charlie and Idiot Ice felt like 'run forward, have some enemies' level. Because you ran forward, had some enemies, ran forward, had some enemies and so on. Nothing couldn't be solved by running past it.
The castle that goes up and down, though, is great, excluding the fact that the part before the midpoint is cheesable by coming in at the right (wrong?) time to spawn the hothead and sparkies above the tunnel. You want to be careful about dangers that can be totally eliminated, especially inadvertently.

Here's one of the things Kil was going to program for his second form of Rumia.

Re: ASMT: Hey there raocow, here be everybody.
Wow. I'm glad to see that my hopes for today's videos were rightly placed. A couple of decent levels (I remember Argumentable's from testing, and I was wondering when it would show up), a good puzzle-type castle that tripped raocow up a couple times (props to Lupinius on that), and then... Rumia, damn.
I wouldn't worry too much about that. Loved that boss fight in any case (though maybe a little less if I'd had to play her myself). Good job to FoD on the Rumia sprite, as well. The cherry on top that just makes the boss that bit better. Kudos to everyone.Kil wrote:There's supposed to be a second part of rumia with more spectacular attacks but I got too lazy to finish it. Also flameofdoubt actually drew Rumia.

I still love the boos that look away from you and look like they are reading a newspaper. They are just awesome.
I can't wait to see what other things there are in the hack. Will it be released to the public after the LP is done?

God yes, I've been waiting for tomorrow's level to be in a video since I first saw it.
Re: ASMT: Hey there raocow, here be everybody.
...I have yet to see tomorrow's level. Based on this and what else I've heard here, I'm sorta worried. Well, I guess I'll find out soon enough what all the hype is about...Crimson wrote:God yes, I've been waiting for tomorrow's level to be in a video since I first saw it.

The levels today were today were awesome leading to up to that spectacular boss! Congrats, FoD, Kil, and everyone else!
And also, congrats to Argumentable for the best Reznor port I've ever seen.
ALSO, I think the Cave OW music is my favorite.
