PLOK! "Yeah! Check me out!.. Did I sort those fleas out or what?"

this is the place where lps are being talked about. it's important to talk about games being played on the internet.

I think as usual these kinds of issues could be resolved by simply giving players options.

I've played a bit of Doom Eternal, and the game actually has Extra Lives - they are collectibles hidden in the stages, and you can accumulate quite a bunch. When you die, as long as you still have one, you get revived on the spot. I actually found this quite annoying because often, I actually want to try the whole encounter again from the last checkpoint instead of automatically expending an extra life which I'd love to actually use for something more difficult later. Anyway, you can play the game with an Extra Life Mode active - where the game ends if you use up all your lives, as if the game was truly old-school.

But additionally, the game also has the highest Difficulty called Ultra-Nightmare, which simply takes away all in-level checkpoints. You can't combine that and Extra Life Mode (wouldn't make much sense tbh) but it's really cool that hardcore players have those options.

Dear lord, this helicopter level was stressful and I wasn't even playing it
I know I said this game sometimes feels like a collab hack and this level especially feels like a janky ASM gimmick level that has a neat idea but overstays its welcome.

And after they were put to use exhaustively in the Flea Pit, they managed to salvage the scraps and bring back a dozen or so for Wrath of Cortex.

i heard the south korea military literally played fortress 2 blue during break time back in the day. imagine just being forced to suffer through this bizarre mix of patriarchy psychic damage and the toxicity of the military complex for like months on end and the only solace you have is that you can play an online scorched earth clone to pretend you're somewhere else until your break ends and reality sets back in

men in military uniforms and camo are peak but no one deserves this shit

the ploobs have been canon the entire time, the pickfords designed him like that from the start. couldn't tell you WHY, though

and with this, the evil is defeated. not the flea queen. i mean plok. say goodbye, don't look back, and don't search for plok fanart on pixiv.

why did the plok comic have a court arc. are there people who actually like those? besides the people who wrote the "grandma got run over by a reindeer" christmas special

if you want an actual answer, it was that it turns out the fleas were an endangered alien species and plok got taken to alien court for willfully ruining their attempt to reproduce on another planet or something. this comes after like a hundred pages of plok being mad that his game never got a sequel and literally cursing Bubsy's name for making mascot platformer games unpopular

"That's not his voice"
I wonder, what would Plok's voice sound like? There are many accents in England, I have no idea which one works better for him.
By the way, I noticed a special thanks for Rare in the credits, that's interesting.

I appreciate the insanity of this premise.

Plok sounds right proper Yorkshire in my head. Rare are based in Leicestershire, and the Pickfords are from Stockport, so I'd guess Plok would be Mancunian? That tracks.

Plok sounds like Harry Enfield doing the Loadsamoney voice. This is now canon.

tbf those start out as court things, that's the whole point. it's not like "surprise! your favorite characters are now in court!" the way the plokomic did

example given of a comic suddenly deciding to be litigious and coming off worse for it:

and unlike plok's genocide trial that isn't even canon and it still sucks

Y'know, speaking of Rare, if these devs were apparently friends with them (or close enough to give them a special thanks), and Rare obviously had direct connections with Nintendo's devs, I can actually believe that Shigeru Miyamoto learned about this niche fairly obscure game and was impressed by the music. There's a lot of Miyamoto rumors and fake quotes circulating online, so I'm a bit skeptical of things without a direct source or some kind of credibility to whatever claim is being made.

Is this Ken Penders' work? It definitely looks like it.

while a lot of what this man wrote is bad, it does not mean that everything bad in archie sonic was written by him

honestly that sounds normal to me so long as you dont go full andrew dobson and draw like five eyebrows stacked on top of eachother

not gonna shit on his artstyle, just his Very White Neo-Liberal politics and boomer opinions but why did he do that

also big chunky eyebrows are always fun to draw, it's what i do with my men most of the time (it's fighting games' fault). i can totally imagine plok can knock out people with em (and then they get taken away when activating target switches)
