Over There... - Initially, we were going for Post-game level references only, and I really like this level among the ASMT post-game levels

Great Pit - Still think it's one of A2MT's best levels.

Deltinus Castle - Wanted an ASMBXT Postgame level, and this was the only one that spoke to me

When Worlds Collide - I enjoyed this hack, and wanted to include it. Thanks Maks for the generator asm.

Confusion - Kinda felt like we had to, didn't it?

Pheonix Pit - Again, wanted at least 1 thing from WtH, so I did this.

im gonna give this a better end than "koba posting about silly old talkhaus posts" and say that. i dont really want aat to completely suplant a2mt. a2mt tried hard to do what it did, even if it is, as i said like four years ago, the product of mass hubris.

a2mt has value despite it riding on its own misplaced ambition, and even if its levels are jank, it has a few that are surprisingly alright if i recall, on top of it giving us the siblings, the concept of the artist, a push to not rely as much on the mario canon (though i am still insistent that we should not remove the derivative work aspect of asmt entirely) and in a way, serac.

this is keeping in mind that hte push to not rely on the canon was a result of people being self-conscious about raocow injokes, and wanting to be approachable to romhack normies.

what im trying to say is that i'd rather us be a3mt instead of a2mt: good edition, if that makes sense.


anyway the next asmt collab will be about a giant con voring demo and every world takes place inside his body. ronincatholic please look forward !!

I had a thought for a while, especially with the wth callbacks in aat and

I think it would be really cool if raocow made another level or even another video game thing. smw or smbx, doesn't matter. cause wouldn't it be cool to see how the past decade changed how he sees level design?

Thanks for play, raocow! This was more or less my first time seeing the game as it's intended to play out. I played a lot of the levels during the fishmarket phase but was not good enough to beat most of them and my playthru of the game proper lost steam after the Lost Woods. There are still a bunch of videos that i missed/skipped that i'm going to go back and watch eventually, too.

Just for fun, I went back and counted the deaths in R.A.O.C.O.W. and Phoenix Pit that weren't recorded by the demo counter because of savestate usage. It was a bit tough due to tight editing, but my best estimates are 50 and 25 respectively, for a total of 75 additional deaths. So a better lower bound for the demo counter would be 2,039 instead of 1,964. Though of course it doesn't account for deaths that were completely edited out, or incidental deaths that would've occurred during normal gameplay.

One last thing I wanted to comment on: That message about Michelin star difficulty ratings in the first town area was something silly I came up with in like, ten seconds. I gave it very little thought, so I'm amused that it became the basis of the title naming gimmick for this LP.

Better late than never? Again, just append your favorite of good/fun/enjoyed it where appropriate.

WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE: In the beta, the generator kept going even if the game was paused. So if you had to get the door and turn away a solicitor for a couple minutes, you could get a lot of slowdown.

LAND OF CAPITALISM: A nice palette cleanser between harder sublevels.

GARDEN OF EDEN: One of the harder sublevels, but overall not too bad? I thought levels before this like Haimari or Meaning of Sharp were harder.

TRUTH REFLECTED IN THE WATER: Another refresher after a hard sublevel. I especially like the concept of this one, and my bloodthirsty nature helped.

???: Obligatory VIP reference.

AT THE END OF ETERNITY: This had my vote for second hardest sublevel for a first clear, and probably the hardest once you know the cheese for a later sublevel. I don't remember the extra powerups in the beta, but maybe I'm misremembering.

ABYSS OF DEATH: High gravity palette cleanser.

CONFUSION: A nice middle difficulty, ramping up to...

PHOENIX PIT: Hardest for a first clear for sure. I almost beat it the hard way without savestates, but then I found the cheese. In the section with throw blocks (first seen at 8:56, first played at 12:15), you can kill the Charlies. You still have to get to that point, so the level is still pretty hard. Someone else mentioned crumbling more of the floor, which also helps.

?????: You didn't actually think that would actually be here, did you? Good joke.

THE FINAL FRACAS: (intermission room)

BOWSERS BASTION 3: Another anti-capitalist room, but this one just hurts.

WHERE THE WHALES COME TO REST: Wait a second... Now we are getting self-referential.

DEMO IN THE SKY (NO DIAMONDS): The original was short, this is also short. Very chaotic though.

SPECIAL: The world is breaking!

(boss): In the beta, there was a particular x-position where you could throw the shells to hit the boss, but not activate the cloud. I took advantage of that to win.

Congratulations! I finished with 4339 demos including throwing myself down a hole something like 200 times to account for R.A.O.C.O.W. savestates. I died around 800 times in SPECIAL, but also didn't use savestates in Phoenix Pit.

I absolutely loved my time with AAT. Coming back to the community after 8ish years has been great. I'm looking forward to (eventually) the next SMW game - maybe I'll contribute my first thing since ASMT? Thank you rao for inspiring the community, and thank you everyone for make.

I know this may be a little late but I'd like to thank everyone for making AAT a possibility, notably Koba for leading the entire project ensuring it would happen the way it did in the first place, as otherwise, I and everyone else might have never gotten to play it. That or AAT could have turned out much, much differently from the current end result, which was overwhelmingly positive from just about every party from what I've seen so far, myself included. I had a lot of fun playing during about 95% (if not more of) of my own livestreamed playthrough.

I set out to obtain all 122 exits starting all the way back in late August, and completed my goal just the night before, racking up a total of 837 demos along the way (with about 150 of them to R.A.O.C.O.W and about 134 to Phoenix Pit, you guys jumped the shark with those two parts of the game lmao :lol: )

It was also an honor to be able to make some levels (contributing valley of wheat, bad day at the garden, sweet paradise, and can't go back to the pot) and was eager to see how raocow would play and experience them firsthand. It would also be fun to have more collabs like this in the future as perfect opportunities to see new people get into the hobby of level/graphic design and/or story writing. Not to mention, there's also something nostalgic about keeping old forum boards like this one alive, whereas many communities nowadays just wanna move everything to something like discord or guilded (where knowledge and history left behind would likely not be as easily accessible as it was on forum boards).

I want to close out my post with this quote,

I know I’d be upset if someone not only pinged me to co-opt something I said for grindset-esque talk but also preceded that with “hahahaha y’all really jumped the shark with those two levels!!!” after all the outrage and armchair design directed at said levels. Especially if that person happened to contribute to the project themselves.

Please do. Here's the issue I had, and I'm only speaking for myself here: Koba clearly has beef with SMCLE for reasons beyond the post itself, but I don't know what "you are a literal right winger" is supposed to mean. It might be something the mod team would care about, or might not be. If it's the former, it should go to the mod team. If it's the latter, Koba should take it somewhere else.

I think it's related to what led them to receiving a ban on smwc, though I can't really speak to that since I'm not registered on smwc and this is basically 2nd hand knowledge

well, uh, nvm about that meta thread post. I was mainly concerned about a possible "most activity outside the talkhaus isn't actionable" policy which it sounds like that isn't quite the case, koba told me y'all talked it over, and I've currently got one dog in the hospital for up to a 72-hour stay with another at home stressed from missing her.

SMWCP was released in New Year's Eve 2010.
SMWCP2 started circa January 10th 2011.

The 2 week rule will never stop biting every collab hack in the ass
