Hero Core is a shooter Metroidvania, created by the developer of Iji, Daniel Remar. Its main plot revolves around Flip Hero, the protag of the prequel game - which is named simply "Hero" - and his final battle against his former master, Cruiser Tetron. It uses minimalist visuals, similar to old computers, and its gameplay is close to Section Z without the forced scrolling, but retaining the non-linearity of the NES release, this time in a more Metroid-esque structure.

So yeah, speaking of Sebby, I'd compare this game to Soldexus in that it is extremely graphically and musically impressive for one person, and I had fun with it and it was worth playing, and it's fine enough to any%, but 100% gets ludicrous.

This game has a serious case of A.I. Roulette. Due to the gravity-free nature of the game, enemies usually randomly choose which direction to go into. However, this can really dick you over in some of the boss fights in Annihilation Mode and Hard Mode (oddly enough, despite being listed before Annihilation, I found Hard Mode to be harder than it and couldn't beat it, while I could beat Annihilation.) You have the super-cool Blade to deflect bullets, but that doesn't help much when bosses decide to corner you and/or shoot bullets that are too big to be deflected. Heck, there's even one boss that tries to escape you and you have to chase it down in a time limit - RNG strikes again!

So TL;DR I would suggest raocow to play the bonus mode unlocked after beating the game but not Hard Mode.

I'd also like to complain that, accessibility-wise, it seems to be more efficient to spam bullets on manual mode than auto-fire mode. I think there IS a shot limit, but it would have been nice to auto-detect when one of your shots disappears and to immediately fire another one.

you just power through them with the half damage suit and lots of health. Not sure how much health you actually need

Just use autofire

You have everything you need to get the last computer in normal mode.
