Newer fought that thing on Mario before. Very interesting. Really neat patterns and variety there. It was like fighting a Ninja or something.
The first level had some very nice technology too. I like how the layers reset back to their original position, and the randomization gimmick.

Ehhhh I think I'll steer clear of the predictions this time, ha. Any prizes for the folks coming in dead last at MaGGotRoaCCC? :P
It's a Fish, Silly
Ahaha, the return of the fish, this time with card powers. Really well done, though it does seem like a few of those formations are best handled with an emphasis on survival rather than dealing damage. Nice that the Monk Realist provides a bit of a break, too, while still letting you get some hits in on the boss.
Championship Boxing
While it might be a touch nonsensical, it still looks like a great boss. Everything keeps the player on their toes, and the biggest hazards come with fair warning. The block snake part is particularly active, and I like how during the one phase the blue box has a shield of bricks to bust through first. Really darn good, yo.
Congratulations to the cartoon dog :P Now you better start seasoning that shoe.

Wow that was a really neat boss Windslash! It was a bit difficult but I loved the varied and random attacks, they were super cool.
...but...
It looks like I did end up winning MaFAB after all. WOW. I still can't believe it, and now all of these shoe posts are going to haunt me until the end of time...
But yeah, dev commentary below:
And that's my boss. I honestly am super surprised because I actually thought my boss would appear before my level, and that it would be in World 11-12 or something. And now I have to eat a shoe...
Well, considering I am but a dog I can't really take a video of myself. However I did conjure something in case this would happen.
AT LEAST I KNOW FOR SURE THAT I AM THE WINNER OF MAKE THE BIGGEST COP-OUT CONTEST!!!
(here is the boss btw)

Re: MaGL X2 - Fish in a box
Well... they're here.
You already know who won from the post above me, but we'll go into further detail.
(Man, I am off of my prediction game!)
2nd place: Windslash: It's a Fish, Silly!
This is an amazing gag, first off. Everything goes by quite fast, and the challenge for survival is difficult, while not feeling too unfair. The card usage is incredible, and the safe card makes a quicker fight feasible, but it also makes this fight really RNG-heavy. The natural conclusion to this, of course, is to cast him as fishin' fish guy. You really did great here.
1st place: FrozenQuills: Championship Boxing
I REALLY like that title pun, especially since raocow is Canadian. (I... don't quite count.) The usage of cards here was great, and I could tell what you were referencing for each one! The fact you had a running gag for that long is really impressive, too. It also helps tht this boss is fun, yet challenging. Fantastic work, and I hope you're alright after eating that shoe... or coppin out, that's fine, too.
Now to see if those voodoo dolls are correct...

I am prone to almost everything... except spontaneous violence.

First place was great. It utilized all of the cards in some really clever ways (especially that Serpent Assassin one). Congratulations on winning FroLAST MESSAGES

It was made by Me and Blivsey. Horikawa and others did almost all of the lua coding though.Shinbison wrote:Who did the hub? ( I don't know lol).

Oh man wow, many congrats FrozenQuills for your first place, you definitely deserved it. And many congrats to you too Windslash, you didn't win but you still did an exceptional job. I don't feel like I really have the ability to say anything meaningful in terms of critique for either of these, so instead I shall you both with a bow. There, I bowed.
Re: MaGL X2 - Horikawa x Updating the Thread OTP
This gave me a hearty chuckle. Bummer about that cop out though. A better cop out would be to bake a shoe-shaped cake or something.Pyro wrote:

Speaking of shoe eating, there's a documentary that might offer some ideas on how to go about doing the deed.
Many people need desperately to receive this message: I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.

Don't need to guess already, since the host has told the answer. :3Horikawa Otane wrote:Me too

Anyway, regarding the windslash' boss, allow me to give an unpopular opinion: I might give only around 20.
Uniqueness will be 10, but fun factor will be 5 each.
The idea is very nice. In fact, if I am allowed to give more than 10 on uniqueness, I don't mind giving a bit more.
But, it seems annoying to play, especially when randomizer decided to troll you hard.
Maybe I am wearing raocow's goggle, so I am not really impressed by the level.
No offense.
Just that in some parts, the vegetable is at the area where it is EXTREMELY risky to access.(And some parts are also not easy to just BARELY survive.)
A bit too luck-based.
Maybe I will die till I rage-quit.
When MAGLx 2 is out, I am thinking about trying this level.

Heh aw thanks, is nice to be recognized (even if I had some crazy issues back then)Sebby19 wrote:Explain the Shoe thing to me.

"I'll eat my shoe/hat if..." is an idiom for "I'll be very surprised if...". For when you really don't believe in something happening
Obligatory didn't expect to make it this far, thought FrozenQuills's level was better than mine even... but at least he won the boss contest!

Can't believe we're facing off against the Top Entries for MAGLX2. It feels like it just started yesterday.
