I agree, though maybe we shouldn't have any sort of limit, and we can just decide when we have enough levels. That way we don't have a ton of half-assed levels that were only submitted because it was deadline day.

Beach Episode? I posted a slightly easier version in the Fixed levels thread, I think.

Neat idea, but way too easy to cheese, as you can just place yourself where the blocks will appear, and you an zoom through the level.

Only qualm I have with it is the required backtracking for the secret exit. That could be made shorter.

Since you guys are making a sequel, I thought I'd contribute a level. It's loosely themed after communist Russia because why not. Any feedback is very appreciated (especially since this is my first level in SMBX).

All right, here it is, the finished version of my level.

I fixed some minor visual glitches and made the secret exit bridge much shorter since
it was kinda long before for no reason.

Uh...Do I just sign here? What do you mean it should be obvious? There are people in this world...well...a whole lot of people that can't follow basic instructions!

er... I don't mean to be a bother but eh...shouldn't we open up a new topic for the submission of levels for A2MBXT?

Just to clear up some space for posts I guess...(?)

We should, but I think we're gonna wait a while before doing things like that. IMO there's a lot more we need to talk about before we even start to think of levels.

That was amazing, but there are some things I would like to point out:

- The red ? blocks always make a switching sound, so please don't use them as containers.
- the lava run part seems unfair to big demo, and the fire power up is not useful at that point.
- You should try to re-graphic the lakitu to something more fitting or at least less lakitu.

Is it the part where you have to slide under the two yellow spikes while the structure is rising that is problematic? I guess I can remove some of the lava right before it so you have more time.

It's more the spikes than anything I think. I found it easier just to stay small.

Neat idea. However, The Ship with the single tile blocks just before Battleship Potemkin feels a bit too much for me, especially with the moving layers. It feels too easy to fall off. Also the section after the airships with the bluw Goopas kicking shells, seem unfair, as it's almost impossible to avoid taking a hit when going though the level blind. You should move the Yoshi block up a tile. I know you can hit it with the Green P-Switch, but most people might not know that, and duck under if they're not small demo. Finally, look into custom graphics for the Crab pipes, there's a bit of cutoff there that you should probably fix.

Don't feel the need to fix the first 2 issues though unless someone else complains. That might just be me.

No I think you're right. I've made the ship a little less stressful and the shell-kicking guys slightly more predictable.

uhm, I know sajewers doesnt want to make one, but I still think all the 'sequel' levels should be on their own thread for organisational purposes.

-I like the idea itself + the music made it awesome (btw, what's the same of the song for the outside theme?)
-The fixed layers seem fine, there is one part on the Battleship Potemkin that I would change though, as it seems unfair:
Image
-It's kind of hard to get past his area without getting hit, as the shiny shell is in the way. I would just get rid of that block for easier platforming I guess(?).
-Does anyone else have a problem with the tight corridor with the saw blade on the Battleship? I didn't really have any troubles with it, I'm just wondering if other people do.
-I'd put some warning coins (a sign exclaiming "!" maybe?) just before the blue koopas + shells part.
-I'd also place some coins at the jump with the thwomp and the two podoboos, ao the player knows they can jump through it.
-I like the sequence right after the mid-point. It's really intense and it made me kind of have to think about it for a second.
-The boss is nice (nice Metroid reference), though it seems kind of empty and pointless for the most part. Maybe add an enemy or two just for some variety I guess.
Overall, I really like the level itself! It has a good amount of flavor in it.

In reality, we should do what was done with ASMT/A2MT, where all ASMT threads were archived, and new ones made. I have no powers to do that so I'll a mod do that.
