OK, an Update to the Devkit:
  • Updated the Luigi and Kood Graphics with the latest updates
  • Added Updates to Mild Interruptions, Only 1 Screen, Fricken Meta, and Four of a Kind
  • I Fixed Star Issue in Reverse Zone, and fixed Music Looping issue with Reverse Zone and The Lounge
  • Demo/iris Blocks in each sublevel of the Hub, Updated Powerups area, main area loops around now
  • Fixed Majestic Tower using wrong end NPC
  • Added Death Counter Program
I'll post a new version of the devkit with all the updates in a bit.

Could you please change the boot URL? Because I'm sick of having to click through the dialogue boxes that talks about running scripts on the page or whatever it is.

What could I do about the friendly star? Is there an option besides removing it altogether? I thought I used it in a clever way. :(

I assume it isn't a problem to just have an information box beside a level indicating how many stars it has, if the counter is broken.
(I would like one for Life Lift, since it's just too funny that it says it has 650 stars)
The first thing I would do with infinite power would be to make myself a cave where I could look at my shadow forever.

I made a game called Utter Confusion! Play it! :D
It's a lot of fun and has been incredibly popular at every indie game dev party I've brought it to.

Have the Friendly star be another NPC that's a graphic swap of the star/leek.

Well, it's just an external program that counts up by 1 each time it detects your death. You have to launch the game from it. Also, it should automatically save your deaths in a local file named demos.dmo or something.

You need the vc redistributable. Yeah, it really sucks that it has to be downloaded for whoever doesn't have that dll on their system...

I honestly kind of like the idea that apparently murder death zone place has '0' stars apparently. I kind of want to keep that way screwy if we can have another way of showing things. It's just.. funny!

Just to make sure I have the right idea, do I really have to download the most recent version of the dev kit, then the Feb. 4 update, then the Feb. 5 update, then this update to get all the levels and their fixes? Earlier today, I applied the Feb. 5 update to the unchanged dev kit, and I got a "File Not Found" error on the first level I tried to enter. Upon checking, there were only six .lvl files in the worlds folder.

I'm assuming it's because I have to apply all the updates in sequential order, but if that's the case, you might want to alter the first post to reflect that, as it only has the dev kit and the second update right now.

Aside from that first update, every update also has an updated version of the full dev kit. If you need the full dev kit, download the full dev kit.

Basically:

If you don't have the dev kit: just d/l the dev kit
If you have the dev kit and need to update: either d/l the updates, or re-d/l the full dev kit.

...Huh. I have no idea how I managed to mess that up, but I did. It's fixed now, though.

No problem. Though, it got me thinking, maybe we should have an easy way to check for updates.

That sure is a lot of stuff you need I wasn't aware of. I hope most people already have all of this.

The lunar launcher. Technically it launches the launcher. I figured all of it would be in the same folder.

Darn. Has anyone else gotten it to work? It works for me... Maybe it's more trouble than it's worth.

It works for me, although it seems to noticeably increase the load times.

That's weird. It shouldn't actually do anything or run any code, as I understand it, until you die. At that point it throws an exception which the death counter catches, and then it just increments its counter and returns to the original code, all transparently.
