Music Options

Post by LightSlei »

THIS IS NOT WHERE YOU REQUEST THINGS, THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD IS TO GIVE THOSE WHO WERE UNABLE TO RESERVE A MUSIC SLOT A LOOK AT THE OPTIONS OF WHAT THOSE WHO WERE ABLE TO RESERVE SLOTS ARE GOING TO USE

I suggested this and glanced over the "A thing about music thread" quickly but this hasn't been made yet.

If you already know what song you plan to use for which level, tell me the level, the song, and preferably a url link to a version of it someone can listen to. If you resign your slots please also post here so I can update it.

*The point of this thread is that people who weren't able to reserve a song can choose a song based on what people say they are going to use.

*If these are not on the Wiki they have not been inserted yet, they are just what the level creators plan to use.

PS: I think some of the boxes got cutoff on the Wiki. I left spaces where I think the problems occur on the wiki.

This follows this form:
Music Slot # - User - Song

* If there is a '*' before the Slot #, the song has been inserted.

This is a very, very good idea.

My songs are three remixes of the SMW title theme - normal, distorted, and more distorted (in order)

Thanks.

Added them to the list, although now I'm curious about distorted to the second power O_o.

I was wondering if there was going to be a list like this. This might end up freeing a good number of music slots in the long run.

I'm planning on using "Duck Tales - The Moon" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_80PQ543rM ) for my slot (Slot #72).

I can add to this too.

Legend of Mana - Calm song
There's a version of this on SMWC: http://www.smwcentral.net/download.php? ... type=music
I've deleted the echo though, and I think I've edited the volume a little too. Might have lowered the tempo only a little.

SM64 Hazy Maze Cave
There's also a version of this on SMWC: http://www.smwcentral.net/download.php? ... type=music
I think I've edited the echo to follow the Snes rules. I've also made it slightly louder and edited the tempo to fit my cave areas a little better.

The music is of course inserted in the order listed.

My songs are:
47: Knuckles Chaotix: Seascape
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbVZh3_FjS4

48: Pokemon Colosseum: Miror B's Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAHHFc-gIeI

Seascape is on SMWCentral, Miror B was one I ported. Both will be included in the ZIP when I submit my level.

I'm slowly fixing the wiki problem. Takes sometime 'cause of that WYSIWYG interface. I'm quicker in plain HTML.

[EDIT] Fixed up to 4F now. It's not that hard when you've learnt this interfaces bugs. Which there are a lot of. It's a bit too random for my taste. But it works fine after learning it a bit.

Can't blame you for that, I'm much more adept with HTML as well.

Just a thought, I wonder if any two users were planning on using the same songs.

Also Randoguy I'll add yours in a minute.

Fixed the Wiki now. It's now readable, so you should be able to add those "invisible" slots to your list.

I'm also thinking of adding a "Name:" row to the wiki. So that you can check it easier. But I'd rather just transform the page into a column based layout instead, so that there's more space to add something like "Name:", "Notes:" and "Type:". (Type being port or custom.)

Tell me if you like the idea of making the page column based instead of row based.

As long as it's readable it doesn't really matter to me.

On raocow's mark, 3... 2... 1... GO!

*starts directly*

Just continue on here while I fix up the column based layout over on the wiki. I'll begin by adding it at the bottom, so if I screw up, I will have a direct row-based copy above there.

So if you see a weird looking column based thing lower down on the page, it's probably just me fixing the layout.

I am using 3F, 71, and 73, but 71 isn't ported yet.
73 happens to be death music I'm using for the level, but it originally wasn't so I suppose you can use it. I don't believe there is any url link for that one.

Code: Select all

(3F) Ristar - "Du-Di-Da!" - Opposable from SMWCentral.net
(73) Forest of Illusion Remix - mario90 from SMWCentral.net
for 3F: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBuiSaUjQvo

Except, it sounds kind of really horrible in the links I found on youtube, atleast in my opinion..Well, the version ported for my game sounds nicer.

I was considering it, but I just felt it was WAY too much work to change it since tables are SO tedious in that interface... Thanks a billion!

Yup, I'm done now.

I only have one little question, what was the pending thing for? It was on almost every song except one or two, and I seems like the pending was a way to tell that the level wasn't inserted.

Also, please contact me if it seems like you're missing a song on the wiki. The table re-modeling was hard and tedious, and I might have missed you when copy-paste'ing.

[EDIT] So, do you think I should add the information given here on the wiki? Would speed up finding things there too. So, yeah.

I'll add the information given about my music there at least. Tell me if you'd like your information there too. Though, don't count on me adding the information there if you're not sure if the music you have currently is the one you're going to have when submitting.

As a general note on music, please PM me about decided music. This way, I can update the wiki with information like the type of the song (custom or port), name of the song and any other notes about the song.

Pending just meant we were waiting on it from that person.

Then I'll add a "Submitted" column. The only people who have submitted their music are Senjan and yoshiguy978, right? I can of course count you in, but I'll not until you're done with your level.

Next on my wiki organizing list is fixing up the ExGFX section. I'll use the same format as the music section, though, with small changes in the use of the titles (e.g."Type" will instead be what the exgfx will be used for).

We should probably jump this discussion to the wiki thread though. So, answer me there instead.

I thought you didn't do the bonus levels anymore?

Regardless, the smw rpg battle song is fitting to my ear, AND unexpected! I think it'd have to be ported however.
