YCZ said we aren't using Chibikko's patch, plus it had a bug anyways.

Also if all 3 of those palettes where using the vanilla palette I like the left one. Otherwise I guess it's obviously the middle. Pretty good. And the luigi palette too.

The left one was unfortunately not the vanilla palette, but was just so you could compare it with how it looks with the vanilla palette (the middle and right).

So just to check are we exclusively using TDemo now?

If so I can get the full TDemo sheet, switch it all over to the vanilla palette (so it looks like the middle one) and send it to you so you have the graphics and then Demo is fully done hurrah.

Some of the frames (Castle Destruction sequences) haven't been animated yet, so we need to ask Terry to finish those, but here's the repaletted version of TDemo from the file you linked, with everything except the castle destruction frames.

Don't worry, I did and then edited my post to say it's unfinished when I'd made sure. We just need those frames and then Demo's graphics will be completely completed.

(unless of course we try and use the mario palette patch to use a different 06-0F palette and so make it closer to the original intended palette, but I don't know if any palette space is 'free' as it were for sure, so although I could help with colour picking and palette reassignment I'm not the person to ask about this)

The mario palette patch only allows you to change the unchangeable palettes level specifically. Otherwise you can already change it globally in LM.

We can freely change the palette that you can't change through custom palettes in LM. (That can't be level specific). So keep that in mind. You could still use some of the blue from his palette or whatever.

It would be good to have one more dark blue as I had to use black and it shows if you look closely, but using those palettes would probably interfere as it's unlikely that not a single person has used one of those rows as their custom palette, and it would take a lot of effort to avoid clashing. If people are happy with this re-palette of it, then unless we suddenly have lots of time left over I'd suggest we try and get, then repalette those left over sprites, and then be finished.

If you mean you think some people might've used the normally unchangeable ones, no one did or if so they're counted as glitched (getting a star or fire flower screws those colors up) and need to be redrawn. For example the megamole shopping carts I redrew with a red palette. So it shouldn't interfere at all.

If we did reassign the mario palette, would it still be able to use the first 6 colours of the vanilla mario palette, or exclusively the 6 reassigned ones?

Uhhh we cannot use the mario palette colors that are used by other sprites such as turn block bridges, but all the other ones should be ok to change.

What do you mean reassign? Make the player use a different palette like the green koopa palette or something?

The way I understood it, the patch makes it so that when the game is looking for what colours to use in the game, instead of looking at colours 06-0F on palette 9 (i think it's 9 for mario anyway), it'll look at colours 06-0F on some other palette, in this case one of the lowest 4 or so.

If this is the case, my question is can you use colours from the new 06-0F that is on a different palete, AND use colours from 00-05 from palette 9 (the original mario palette hopefully)?

You can't use two palettes together. If I remember correctly the patch actually changes the colors on the same mario palette.

ALSO: Oh dear. I used the bottom right hand corner of the palette (specifically one of the bottom four rows, and the 8 right-hand-most colour slots) to colour the Cirno Lakitus in my level...Should I be worried?

What do you mean? Changing the mario palettes that can be overwritten by star power are completely safe to change, all the sprite replacements are supposed to be made to not use those palettes. However changing something like the palettes that don't change with a star or fireflower are used by other sprites and would cause confliction.

Also I don't understand what you mean for the Cirno Lakitu, can you send me a screeny? As long as it doesn't use the mario palette (which it doesn't normally, since it uses either the blue yellow green or red one) it should be fine.

I think one essential problem here is that I don't understand how the star-overwriting-palettes thing works, so it's confusing me quite a bit.

This shows what I used for this sprite's palette:

As far as cutoff for the other castle, I'll just move the door up one pixel and draw a black line if it wins.

Streamlined Outline and Flag Castle. And when there is one level where it doesn't quite seem right, we can always use the lips as a replacement for that level.
