That's really good! I don't like the current fire-thing swap because it's a ripoff from another game (i think we should change black mage out too). Do other people want to use this swap instead? I do.

The idea was "thumb tack", but I couldn't really fit much. It's unfortunate that another game got to this before me, though...flameofdoubt wrote:That's really good! Seems pretty good, the only thing I notice though looking at the gfx file is Demo's exploded tiles. (The cutscene ones) where she's burnt to a crisp. I think they could be more HQ ish like the rest of the tiles.

That's how the original did it chdata, normal tiles had shading, exploded was block colours, to give it the burnt effect. Plus I'll be honest I wouldn't know where to begin with making a high quality burnt effect.
EDIT: There are some problems with the ludwig (rocket) castle, and possibly others. I'm going through and testing and fixing them as best i can.
EDIT2: Demo won't be able to turn to look at ludwig's rocket castle when big, unfortunately the way the sprite is laid out it just isn't going to work. I've made her mimic it while still looking at the screen though and hopefully it won't matter too much because of false perspective in these games anyway.

After almost an hour of hard work, I was able to concoct a Hot Head replacement known as the Sun Dial. It didn't come out as good as I had hoped (you would not believe how many restrictions I had to work around) but it works nonetheless. I'll let you guys decide if it's acceptable or not.
If you need any other graphic changes, let me know! I'm still waiting on Chdata for that code, so this'll keep me busy.

All I see changed is that you turned two of her head tiles to look like shes facing the other direction. Is that what you changed or am I missing something.

I actually changed 3 if you get the "latest" version I just edited in the earlier post.
The first two I changed were so that during the ludwig castle destruction scene instead of looking away from the screen she continues to look towards it. The way the sprites are stuck together means that when she normally looks away you would get her body turned toward the screen, the bottom half of her face turned towards the screen, and the top half turned away, which looks really weird.
The most recent tile I changed was a small demo hair issue where because of the reflection of a few top pixels of hair, either the facing-away spinjump sprite or the looking-towards-ludwig's-castle sprite is reflected the wrong way. Because the spinjump goes so fast that you can't tell, I made that the one that is a couple of pixels out.

GFX00 contains some tiles used by mario.
Also Flame, I noticed berries still glow a weird color, can you fix it? (Also I lost the latest version of gfx10 for terry)

I still need to finish GFX00 because I know that Terry's Demo does actually use like...one pixel of some of them, I'll post 'em when I'm done.

Hopping flame replacement: I don't know. The current one might be a rip off, but it fits really well in the whole thing.
Or at least in this level:
We can use those for that level only of course..

Good point about the flame level Kilon I'd forgotten that. We'll have to take that into account then. I just don't like using the evil looking flame and black mage graphics. They make sense but they're ripoffs from other games.

Gah! Whoops. Chdata I forgot to mention, for GFX10 to work properly there's a colour that needs to be inserted into the OW palette. Palette A, Colour A needs to be R:24 G:40 B:112.
