Middle demo looks best for the love scene.
Also the colored yoshis are better. But maybe the civilians and the soldiers could have a different color as well? Like red for the soldiers or something?

Red yoshis for guards makes sense, but I always assumed the guards and civilians would just be in any and all colours.

Wait, isn't that the same as the one I'm using now? Just the normal standing?

I'll use fod's Yoshi sprites, but I still need the Yoshi HQ background, and possibly also the foreground. Chdata? Do you have them?
Also needing the King Charles and Black Blague sprites.
And for cutscene 7 the GFX YCZ used in Cutscene 1.

E: Question regarding cutscene 6:
Should I use ??? when BP speaks or write Black Blague? Because he is only visible after his talking part.

Here is a sprite for KC, not all are finished yet:

In cutscene 6, put him as "???". You're only meant to know who he is when the battle against him begins and he appears, so only show his name in cutscene 7, which I believe is the one right after you beat him.

Have to cut in and say I love the developments. I still think my Yoshi Leader and Con are pure gold, but there's no accounting for taste, I guess. ; )

I was planning on working on a Yoshi HQ level, but was just going to use a standard cave BG (palette 6). I'd say go w/ that for now. For continuity purposes, I don't think the FG matters too much. Post what you have and I'll adapt it - if we're indeed to have a Yoshi HQ level at all (which seems questionable considering folks' expectations & whatnot). Chdata, if you could send me what you've got w/ the destroyed base, that'd be swell.

As for KC, I could make more frames. I don't know what kind of format the cutscene tool expects from you. (E.g., if you need them to fit into standard charlie frames, that might be difficult.) If it can be anything within that size, I can whip some more up post haste.

Love scene!?!?!
What happened to the not-so-serious, some people making some levels, collab hack?

damn, this thing has gone far

The love scene is comic relief, yeah. Yes there is a plot and it's meant to be more than just filler between levels, but we aren't seriously going to write demo-yoshi fanfiction and put that in the hack.

The "love scene" is great. People seem to forget that ASMT is supposed to be modelled after VIP: randomness and nonsense.

I like the redesign of BP, but is it necessary to have the signs/runes/whatever cover his eyes? I'd say they should be spared.

They don't cover his eyes, just that the colour for his pupils is the same colour as the runes. I took an in-game screenshot from the beta version of the hack.

Ok, going to use standart cave BG (Palette 6) and standart cave FG (Palette 4).

I need one more frame with KC lying or showing he's beaten. It should have the size of a regular charlie.

Here is what's left to do:
Cutscene 2
GFX of beaten KC for cutscene 5
GFX of spaceship from cutscene 1 (for 7)

After I finished that I'll make a patch and let you "test" it.

Here is what's left to do:
Cutscene 2
GFX of beaten KC for cutscene 5
KC with a broken helmet and torn cape would be funny
GFX of spaceship from cutscene 1 (for 7)
Do you have those already? Otherwise pm ycz for them

As for the spaceship/base graphics from the first cutscene, you will find those in ExGFX1F0 if you extract the ExGraphics from the beta.

Ok, got them.
And I just noticed that I'm freakin stupid. Didn't realize that you can let the GFX overlap, and thus made me unnecessary work.

FYI: My computer is dead, so I won't likely be able to come up with any new stuff before the deadline. This includes GFX for cutscenes or what have you, and that Yoshi HQ level (I had only just started work on it).

If somebody needs something I have, though, data salvage isn't out of the question. I believe that everything I've completed has been posted, so this probably won't be necessary. I'll also still be checking in on public pc's from time to time in case something needs to happen re:script.

Peace, M.

In light of Moniker's trouble I've whipped up some King Charles sprites, any thoughts on these/do they help with the plot cutscenes/do you need any specific ones for the cutscenes?

I was thinking of having them combined since I don't like how I drew the capes all too much.

Actually it's largely based off of Machoman's single frame. Although I made a diagonal and some other stuff.
