that would work if there was space, do we have space?

also, wouldnt that always appear on the statusbar? It'd be kinda weird having that be there the whole time when the jukeblocks are nowhere around

oh yeah

If you want to go ahead and do that, as you can see the blocks now use some random ram at $067F for the song number so just use that. I haven't editted the statusbar before and I'm too lazy to learn anymore

To spawn tiles to the status bar you just write the value of a tile to the status bar's tilemap which is what 1024's diagram is.

yeah I know editting the status bar is pretty easy, i'm just too lazy to find out how YCZ's new statusbar with demo counter is laid out and all that. also i didn't make the level which will contain the block so I dunno anything about it

Actually I still need to edit it (the level).

Now that I think of it I could probably replicate his patch but it'd be kinda useless for me to do that and it wouldn't be entirely as efficient just cuz I'd use a different method for the SRAM part.

edit: You know, I think the fire sound YCZ used for his (Fire Flower?) grinders fits better than the laser sound, plus we aren't having lasers anymore anyways.

There's two, Wyatt's music and Kils, and then actually I think there might be some more but I'm not sure. I'll look for Wyatt's since I know Kil's more active here.

The Megaman (Wilytalk) song is for KCharlie's cutscene.

edit: Some of his songs don't work since they were made for Perl's Addmusic.

edit: Psrnth's Leek Star port was somewhere, I remember it cutting off to be completely quiet, and made a version fixing that. If anyone finds it before me, all I did was remove the r1 at the end of each channel.

Erm... so does anyone know what type of level each of these songs are supposed to be used for? All I can recognize from wyatt's files are Ice Cave Chant, the MM8 song you mentioned, and two songs from Yoshi's Island, and of Kil's files I don't know what either Final Adventure, Final Duel, or Imperial is...

The Jeopardy song was for the P-Switch, right? Did we ever decide on anything new for misc songs other than that and the star theme? Level end, boss defeated, death... Are we going with the original songs for all of those?

Kil made something for the goal, but said for some reason it shouldn't be used.

Jeopardy for POW. (The ticking had a glitch with star music and message boxes, but I think Kil said with the patch installed you could make it optional?)

Plokboss, the YI boss songs, and I think smkrainr (by Wyatt) for some bosses
Tetris for ghost houses?

I think Final Adventure might be the void world OW.

I know Kil made a song for the intro cutscene (dunno if we were going to use it), that might be Imperial?

Imperial is something I made for the first cutscene. Final duel is just some random port I made which I don't think anyone is using. Any of the other songs in there are just unused random songs that no one is using I think.

If you're looking for music to change stuff to, you could change the regular Here We Go's to Decisive Here We Go, since it doesn't use sample tool or anything.

Also while I like jeopardy I think we should use the ticking p switch patch.

For the credits Crash and Burn by Wyatt

For the switch palaces: SMW2 Mid Boss by Wyatt

For the P-switch: standard use of the Jeopardy theme but I believe Moniker's castle 7 requested the ticking p-switch

For the level beaten/death/et: original music

And for generic custom levels I say look at the OP here. I don't know which levels don't have custom music so far, but:

Those are songs that at least could be used for levels that have vanilla music and fit the description


That still leaves certain levels probably but it's hard to judge without having a list. For instance the PANIC PUZZLE one could use music that would work when constantly played faster. As that is the whole point of the level I believe

Id like to say, if you guys find any awesome music that noone plans on using, I wouldn't mind if my level had custom music. Really, I just never bothered to look into custom music for my ghost house :?

The two wyatt-tracks for ghosthouses (see a few posts before) are both pretty good, so the choice is basically yours :)
