Will probably port fireyblaze's suggestion (Halloween Tetris thing) too since fast ghost houses will probably be more prominent. Also, I think the Puyo Pop fever song posted could translate fairly well, so if people like that one I'll do it as well. Same goes for Petal Meadows suggested by rubberfishy.

Could someone please give me a quick rundown on how to insert sound effects and sample banks? Also, anyone have any idea where I can find the new star music?

Sound Effects is pretty easy. Put the sound effect text file in one of the Sound folders of addmusic (1DFC, 1DF9). Now, just like music insertion, put the name of the sound in SoundEffects.ini and type addmusic.exe rom.smc -se in cmd.

It's been awhile since I did sound effects but I think you first do
addmusic romname.smc -se
Then your soundeffects.ini should be generated
Now put some sound effects in the proper folders (pretty sure we're talking about the p switch sound here so let's just specifically discuss that)

Go to the Add New Bank box and put in some number above 10. I'm using numbers 30 through 33 in my roms, but it doesn't matter what you choose.
Now click import bank. If it gives you some error message, go back and choose a different bank number until it can find enough free space.
After youve chosen the bnk file to import, go to Available Banks and find the bank we just imported.
Now go to the Level Banks drop down and set whatever levels are going to use that bank. Note that two of my levels use the same bank, rsaga3.bnk, so you don't have to insert that twice, just set it to the two levels. Also it's been forever so don't forget about water.bnk... it should be set for both the beginning part of 1C and whatever the end was... either level 49 or 41
Make sure you Save now or it won't do anything
That should be it

Are we absolutely changing everything? I know I haven't picked anything for 3 of mine, but I'd kind of prefer Honeypot Trap to keep the original castle music and Starry Nights to keep the original "Piano"
I am open on Overgrown Fortress though, but if I have to change any of these I'd prefer to get a final say in them

As long as they don't use the star (I would think that the ticking P-Switch patch works no matter if the music is custom or original), there shouldn't be any problem with keeping the original music for those levels.

YCZ, note: We'll need to add in a rest ("r1/" or something) at the beginning of the overworlds songs on the main map or there'll be an annoying stutter probably.

Though, I think the Plok boss music that was made would fit for the reznor fight in Night of the Living Chuck? I'm guessing you have it since it was in that big zip file, but if not I'll send it your way

I also have all the japanese songs you can find in this demo.
(This rom uses Romi's addmusic, and the n-spc patch but nothing else. Some songs might crash the game if you let them play too long, mostly the ones that sound weird since they probably require Carol's more.bin, just skip them. Go through the doors to listen to the different songs.)

I'm open to suggestions for the music, since I can't seem to find one I'm personally happy with (more a problem with me than a problem with the music).
