A Super Mario Thing - Levels Submission Thread

THIS THREAD IS NOT FOR PEOPLE TO POST THEIR RANDOM LEVELS THEY MADE. ONLY POST HERE IF YOU GOT A LEVEL ASSIGNED TO YOU AND HAVE FINISHED IT.

Once your level is ready, place the following things in a .zip file, upload it somewhere (preferably on the forums), and put a link to it in your post.

- The .mwl level files (needless to say)
- Any ExGFX files you have used for your level, along with the Map16 files (if needed)
- Any custom sprites or blocks you may have inserted (please put a list of the numbers they have been inserted as in your post)

BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR LEVEL, PLEASE REPOINT SECONDARY EXITS NOT USED TO OTHER LEVELS, SO THAT THEY WON'T OVERWRITE ONES USED BY OTHER PEOPLE.

And make sure to put the name of the level in your post, as well as the contents of any message blocks/Display Level Message 1 sprites you may have placed in it.

I know this is levels submission, but, uh, can this be the OW submission thread also?

Well, i'll submit this one here anyways.

Also, YCZ, I'm very impressed in how organized you are! :D

Also, the file is too big, so here it is on freakin' mega upload!

Noob question, is there a way you have to export the map16 files separately? Because I can't find it anywhere...

Here are the Green and Blue Switch Palaces. The blue includes the custom palette. You may edit things that you don't like. No map16, these are purely vanilla.

@ultratowel112: The green switch palace looks pretty good, but the blue one just seems kind of empty and boring... Perhaps you could add some enemies to it? And speaking of which, I kind of need the contents of the message block in that level as well.

@Kristian: You know, you could just use an IPS patch instead. It is quite a bit smaller, as well as less illegal.

Hope I have it all done correctly. Also note that they all bypass standard GFX in one way or another.

Again, for easy reference, or in case anyone else uses them (its in a text file too)
4 is venus
5 is venus_upsidedown
ExGFX95 is their file

So, we can just do an ips? Because I don't know how to export map16 data....

Why don't you just get winrar

Try this

@Dealth0072: Err.. You must have done something wrong. The .mwl file contains the original level 105... Remember to have level 11A open when you choose "Save Level to File".

Also, what is your level called?

@Kiniko: Exporting Map16 data is easy. Just go to the page in the Map16 editor where you have the data stored, and press F2.

@Argumentable: I would, but all I can find is trial versions and ones you have to pay for.

Here be the cave overworld, which, can be world 4 or 5, we originally said cave = world 4, but it's your choice YCZ.

I think that you used a bad ROM to create the patch, as after I have patched it to a clean ROM Lunar Magic refuses to open it and ZSNES crashes when I try to run it.

Ok. Here.

Also here is level 0B, I didn't use a sublevel by the way.

The level is called Noah's ARGH! I put two of all the basic enemies in the level. It's pretty easy, and not the best designed, but, it's a gimmick level, and yeah.
(There are two goal bar sprites at the end, too. :P)

I laughed when I saw the two goal bar sprites XD

Kristian, if you want to I can try to make that level look more like a ship by using the yellow log objects instead of the donut bridges.

And I like how even the coins and pipes come in pairs.

Thanks for all the positive feedback!
YCZ, if you could use some ExGFX and make it look like a better bridge, then go for it.

It's just 'cause it's on a bridge in the OW.

Who needs ExGFX?

And just because the level tile is on a bridge doesn't mean that the entire level has to.

Hey guy, I was just lurking in this forum as usual and noticed all this zip/rar hoo har, why don't you try 7-zip, its open source and supports a ton of archive file types including ".zip" and ".rar", I use it so it must be good.
sorry to disrupt your thread.
rubberfishy away, *whoosh*

Fair enough, I just thought you meant that you were making the whole level into a ship.
