This one. It looks more sandy, and real, the other one just looks like someone spray-painted a thwomp yellow.

I like the one with the darker outlines, as they don't seem to blend in with the background so much

Definately the sandy one, it's sexy. :D

Hmm... so far 2-1, I'm gonna wait a bit more to see. I personally like the sandy one more, but I want to know some more of peoples opinions.
EDIT: BTW, don't pay attention to any of the backgrounds palletes and such, I didn't fix those really.

lol, thanks :D

Well, honestly, if the background was different, or at least not quite as similar in color, I would pick the sandy ones.

The second one looks better in my opinion. And it is good, because the player could miss the thwomp because he is so sandy ^^

They have been slightly darkened. Now between these two, cause I just didn't like the other. Also, no, this isn't the actual level at all, I barely started.

I like the new sandy, actually.
Still looks very sandy, but you can see them better.
Nice work, by the way.

Is there like a patch to prevent the bottom half of a Dry Bones from turning into a line guided platform tile?

Any chance someone could take a look at my updated level? i'm kinda relying on the "no sprite limitations patch" to make it glitch-free, but from my playthroughs it's very playable in this condition. Any break in the cloud barrier or suspiciously open space should probably house a message box but it happens surprisingly rarely, and doesn't break gameplay.

Still quite a short, as i'm still trying to come up with new variations on the theme, but here goes:

Point of Advice

Edit: also wow i just realised i didn't make it the easiest thing in the world to play my level, as i built it on the level i'd been assigned. Fortunately it's only donut plains 1...but here's a save file that gets you straight there.

if the RAINBOW SWITCH STONGHOLD makes it into the game what music should it have?

None other than Rainbow Road! (the DS version) I've heard this in a few hacks that raocow played (a part of the hidden Star Road stage in VIP3 being one of them)

also the new Sandy Thwomp is better

I'ma go with the new one, definitely.

Also, does anyone know how to make layer 2 go in front of layer 1?

I'm gonna feel like a bit of a jerk for saying it, but the volcano... I don't quite think it looks right. Damn good as is, but it looks devoid of texture compared to the entire rest of the map... know what I mean?

Very well then; let's give it some!

It's a pity the overworld doesn't have more than four usable object palettes, or I would have put in some lava flows... Oh well.

I finished my level, but I'd like someone to playtest it if they could to see what could be improved. I've attached a zip file with the levels, an IPS file, and a Save state that you can load to be on top of the level (It's the castle one before the backdoor in Bowser's Valley)

I agree about the thwomp, but the link goes to a Linkin Park video. Was that intentional?

A preview of the level, most sprite problems have been fixed, if anyone knows the correct sprite header, can they please tell me, I changed it to 4 and it is working a lot better, anyhow, enjoy :D
