That is a nice bg

Also are there any boxes in that tileset? I mean when I think of a resistance base, the thing that immediately comes to mind for me is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5B0DzT1fx4

And look at all those boxes!

Oh, and I cant see where you exit the HQ but for continuity purposes it should be a pipe going up or something.
And maybe it's better to not have a yoshi because then you can just get one whenever you feel like it.

Oh hey, I just realized I should send you guys that actual yoshi house, the destroyed one. I'll get to that.

I'm assuming the house is level 24.

That's not a problem, we are using the Counter Break Y Patch.
The problem is that you can produce the double Yoshi Glitch.

@chdata
The BG is too cartoony IMO. And the cutscene is already set up. But I can add the support beams.
If you already read this post, not level 59. There is the cutscene first, but I don't know what level it is in.

How about these:
It makes sense that we live underground doesn't it?, I mean whenever we're on the surface we always end up falling down holes.
Living underground has it's benefits, uh, like getting crushed by cave-ins

Quick question for the level list, so did mrwannabe and ChatoicFox get their submissions in on time or not?

I also came up with some text - please look for grammar errors, since I'm not a native English speaker:
The morning sun has vanquished the horrible night. How about vanquish this horrible king charles?

Why we Yoshis have such a big nose, you ask? To find and dig up truffles, of course! They don't increase our size or grant us the ability to rise from the dead, but hey - they taste good.

Doublepost for the hell of it - does anyone remember those dumb yet cool quotes from Cranky Kong, the old guy from Donkey Kong Country?
They can't keep this level of graphics up for much longer! We used to be lucky if we only got three shades of grey, let alone any real colors!
I can't believe you're still reading this!
I could defeat king Charles single-handedly of course, but then you wouldn't have a game to play would you?
Tough luck kid. I've been told to keep my mouth shut, as they want to keep all the good stuff for a money-making strategy guide. I'm sure some of it will appear on the newfangled 'internet' thing as well, so I suggest you take a look-see there. You could also ask your friends, assuming of course you've got any. If all else fails, you'll just have to play better.
Visit me first and give me all your coins! I'm far more useful than these other sad-looking bums!

They are pretty funny.
But:
Don't mention KC yet. That has to be a surprise.
And that 4th one in the second post is way to long.

Some 4th wall breaking is always nice though

I'm glad you like them :)
Didn't know that KC is a secret. Well, just change "KC" in these quotes to whatever might fit then.

Also, here's a shorter version of that long quote:
I've been told to keep my mouth shut, as they want to keep all the good stuff for a money-making strategy guide. If you should still make no progress in this game, you'll just have to play better.
EDIT:
What if we'd go Harry Potter-style and just say "He who must not be named"?

that could work for some of the boxes. But for others it might be to long. just 'the King' or 'the Enemy' would do.

We could do something like send raocow a "Demo" of the game. I mean, the start of the game is pretty much finished. It'll take him a while to LP all the way to the end. We can tell him to take his time and only do a level a day, even if the video's short.

And during that time we can tie up anything that would need to be finished that hasn't been able to (probably only the credits I guess?)

Anyways YCZ, did you get the jukeblocks in? and also for the credits I made a patch that "disables" death.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lauo0kSgR3c

My thought was that we could display all the different sprite gfx replacements during the credits, and they wouldn'nt be able to kill you, but can make you lose mushrooms, if you fall in a hole you're still safe, and if the time runs out (so we could start it really low just to scare the player) you're still safe.

Currently you define the level number it applies to but it can be easily changed to just a freeram controlled in levelASM to put it in more levels without messing up levelASM.

We should just have a scroll after the main credits with all of the sprites and their names under them, and maybe who made them. And yes I'm only suggesting this because rumia is super cute.

Then again in order to get every sprite in the game into one level we'd need some VRAM updating asm and it's probably too late to be thinking about that so whatevs.

Or we could use more than one sublevel.

Hey did you notice in that VIP5 crazy business level, the conflicting tilesets without exgfx

I agree, it really isn't necessary to say for every sprite who made it. We already have the gfx department in the credits and that is enough.

How about for the special sprites, which aren't gfx replacements of an origional SMW sprite. Aka, exgfx for a custom sprite. We should credit FoD for drawing KC, whoever drew the heavy thwomp, Kil's rumia, (maybe my work on the B4 and GT but those aren't exactly custom)

Ahem. An honorable mention to Moniker for drawing the inspirational first frame.

(Yes! Moniker's fantastic! Put his name on the cover for the titlescreen! I'd take a bullet for that lad!)

Huh? Actually Machoman did. I took that and drew a full KC sprite replacement, every Chuck frame replaced, but it wasn't that good. The I think you drew that frame, and then FoD drew an almost full gfx replacement of Charlies. just a few less frames than me which weren't used anyways.
