Re: DRM, Colored People
People in Africa who don't have American citizenship can't be African Americans.
And now the coast is clear, I just need to deal... with my number one fan.
Riku~n, why do you keep wanting to murder me like this?
I wouldn't mind that smile so much if your skin wasn't made of poison for some reason.

It's the politically correct term to use. Learn some manners.Sillyman wrote:People in Africa who don't have American citizenship can't be African Americans.

You're wrong, it's the politically correct term for all land-based countriesAlex wrote:Referring to black people in America, maybe. Not anywhere else, though >_>anonymousbl00dlust wrote:It's the politically correct term to use.

Correct. Hawaiians, on the other hand, are the african americans of the sea and thus assume a completely different cultural identity: sea africans.BTYM wrote:You're wrong, it's the politically correct term for all land-based countriesAlex wrote:Referring to black people in America, maybe. However, this thread seems to be derailing. Back to our original topic: what are we going to do about racist videogame publishers discriminating against the african americans in africa who can't afford to buy the internet? I say we call up Jessie Jackson to protest on the matter. For serious y'all.

African Europeans.. that's obviously the right term.
Just like American European is the correct term for US citizens because the US is all import.
Now, about the subject; you got a link for me to see what it's all about.. I'm too lazy to google it myself.

Re: DRM, Colored People
Man this is the stupidest thread I've seen in a while, I hope you're just being dense, the term "colored" is very offensive and I don't see any reason to keep this open
HOWEVER on a related note we were just yelling at some idiot on the bus yesterday for calling Africans "African-Americans" so it's like whoa this thread pops up

Basically, Online-DRM is DRM for Turbo-Nazis.kilon wrote:African Europeans.. that's obviously the right term.

If you know DRM, it's short for Digital Rights Management, and it's another fruitless attempt by the content Mafia to stop digital piracy. It comes in the form of gaming or music disks and pretty much blocks you from copying stuff from or to the DVD/Blu-Ray. It also doesn't let you start the game without the disk inserted.
Of course there's easy ways to get around this, so they thought of a new method:
"Hey, let's only allow people to play the game when they're connected to our online-servers! That way, we can not only constantly check if they have a "valid" copy of the game, but can also monitor their gaming habits, collect their IP and all other sorts of information about their computers! It's a win-win... for us!"
And thus, Online-DRM was born.
