Same for me. I think it's that he is using his own intrumental cover as the background, and I don't really like synths that try to sound like real instruments.

I've been subbed to him for several years, and I think his work's gotten better over time.
His Mario Land with lyrics collab he did with DemonTomatoDave was pretty awesome, too.
