As I do not have any of the current consoles, all I can discuss are the handhelds.

I like the DS's form factor more than the PSP, but I appreciate the PSP's homebrew more. I've found better utilities on the PSP than I've found on the DS. Also, the SNES emulator is better on the PSP.

As far as games, i can't say much because I've only played two on the PSP to the dozen I have for my DS.

All new Sony stuff is overpriced and way to milked with trying to get more money out of it with the PSP slim and the PS3 Slim... Really Sony really? I mean your console only has a few good exclusive games and the rest can be gotten on the other systems. Yes better graphics but not as much space on the disks for stuff because blue-ray is not perfected yet and they must have multiple copies of the same files over and over to make it not lag. Plus Sony steals ideas from everyone. Also yes I did like Sony at one point I have more PS2 games than anything else I just don't like the direction Sony went.

Overpriced? Oh really now. Yes, they're expensive, but originally they were selling the PS3s as underpriced, and were getting negative profit from their PS3 sales, because the price for a PS3 didn't even cover the manufacturing cost. They've only moderately recently actually started getting something out of selling individual PS3 units. Please try your argument again when it has more research behind it, or point out a critical flaw in mine.

As for what I think of the current generation consoles? Ehhh. I've the PS3, Wii, DS, and PSP, and I really get like next to no mileage out of my PS3 or Wii, although recently I got BlazBlue for the PS3 and have been playing that occasionally. The DS and PSP are where it's at, when it comes to games. But really, I haven't touched either of those two in a few months now, either, so... ehhh.

Gobolt, I still think the ps3 could be considered 'overpriced'. I mean, yeah, you need to price according to the actual cost to build the machine, but it's also important to consider the purpose of the device. Sony wanted to seel the PS3 at a much higher price than most people wanted to for a video game console - in a sense, thus, it can be said to be overpriced.

If you were to treat it as nothing more than a video game console (... which is something I do myself, so yeah), then yes, it can be considered overpriced. Unfortunately for at least some blokes, Sony wanted to have it be a full blown home entertainment system thingy where you just hook up the TV and something and then can use it for everything, instead of just a video game console. So yeah, it is overpriced for 'just' a video game console, but if you treat it as it's 'supposed' to be, IE the central unit for a home entertainment system or something like that, then it ceases to be overpriced.

With the PS3Slim it gets a bit more interesting, but I still wouldn't spend my money on it.
I mean, what exactly does PS3 have that XBOX360 doesn't have? Okay, blu-ray but that is not used to his full potential by far (DVD is to small by now though).
Both consoles get motion control so that's not something you have to buy one of these for. Although Natal might be a bit weird as you don't hold anything at all.

As for the Wii; I always try to like it, but then I look at the collection of games and go cry in a corner. But this year and 2010 should be better. Not worth the 200 euros though. Especially now xbox and playstation get motion control as well (stolen concept? Perhaps. But I don't care about that) and the graphics on the Wii are just meh. And that is coming from someone who is NO graphic whore.

With all the consoles the Wii is the most family friendly and has a few decent games but Nintendo went with the gimmicky controls for almost every game, no this does not mean every game is controlled solely with the motion control, but most games use it in some manner. The 360 has mainly FPS games which isn't bad but get's a little old when most games play the same or very similar. The PS3 usually has a good verity of games. Yes it is suppose to be an entertainment systems but the internet lags on it, blue-ray isn't all to good because it's not used perfectly yet, and Sony keeps stealing ideas from everyone else.
